The Game of the Soul

It all starts with love

People come into the game with all sorts of questions — about money, work, a home, a move, a person who has been quiet for three weeks and clearly considers that an answer. Put them side by side and underneath there is almost always the same question: am I loved, and do I love myself enough to ask.

I made this game and even so my first questions inside it were just like everyone else’s. I will tell you what they were, where I got it wrong and what changed once I started asking differently.

I will also tell you about one question I asked about my daughter. Its answer caught me entirely off guard.

It all starts with love

Love is the first thing we ever meet, before we even have words for it. How you were carried, how you were looked at, when you were given attention and when you were made to wait — everything else about closeness is learned from there. Then come work, money, home, friends, and each of them carries the same imprint.

That is why the theme of love turns up everywhere. Someone asks why the boss keeps overlooking him, and underneath it breathes the same feeling he had thirty years ago in his mother’s kitchen. He asks about money, and the question is how much he is allowed to receive. He asks about a home, and the question is where he has the right to take up space.

The game works with this openly. The Love room reads your birth chart through one concrete question about closeness and answers about you — how you love, what you look for, what you run from and what makes you feel wanted.

My first question was far too big

When I went into the room for the first time, I wrote: “Why does love never work out for me?” I know, I know. Anyone who has asked the same knows where it comes from — from tiredness and from a few stories that ended the same way.

I had asked that same question in Karma too. That is where it belongs, because Karma looks at the family line, the repetitions and the bills somebody left unpaid before me. In the Love room, though, those same words spread out. Love reads my chart and my way of loving, and “it never works out” hands it twenty years at once — the man from ten years ago, the man from two, the loneliness in between and the fear that it will be the same again.

The answer was good and still too wide, because so was my question. The second time I wrote something else: “Why do I choose men with one foot on the doorstep?” That one was the right size. One theme, one angle and room enough to reach the bottom of it. I read it twice, and by the second reading I was slightly uncomfortable, which is usually a good sign.

One question at a time

The temptation is strong. You sit down in front of the empty field and pour it all in: “Will it work out with him, does he love me, will he call, should I wait and why does this keep happening to me.” Five questions in one sentence. The answer then hands two sentences to each and in the end none of them gets anywhere.

One question takes the whole space. The others will wait for tomorrow, the day after, next week — the game remembers the earlier ones and in time starts tying the answers to one another by itself. Nothing is lost, it simply comes in turn.

What the Love room looks at

Love reads your birth chart and sets it against the question you wrote. Venus shows how you come closer and what you call beautiful. The Moon says what you need in order to feel safe. The seventh house describes what kind of person feels like home to you. Over the top run today’s transits, meaning what you are in the middle of right now.

The answer is about you. I say it plainly, because most love questions are really about the other one — what he thinks, what he feels, when he will decide. From there you leave with guesswork. From your own chart you leave with something you can actually use the same day.

When the question is about two people

Some questions need two charts. That is what Compatibility is for — you put your date next to his and it becomes visible what brought you together, where you understand each other with no effort and which themes will come back again and again.

I went in there with a question I now recognise as typical: “Why does this person do nothing towards me?” The answer explained quite a lot — where his chart closes, where mine waits and why we were both standing still and calling it patience.

Then I asked the second question separately: “What can I do so that we are together?” And here it got interesting. Instead of tactics, I got to see how I keep the distance myself — waiting for him to show something first so that I am the one who stays safe. Thank you very much, exactly what I needed to hear. The two questions asked separately gave me more than they would have glued into one.

One question about my daughter

One day I was writing about something else altogether. My daughter and I get on beautifully while we are abroad. The moment we are back in Bulgaria we start arguing over nonsense — who left the cup out, who said it in what tone. We had put it down to tiredness and travel so many times that we already took it for normal.

I wrote the question just as it was: “Why do we argue constantly when we are in Bulgaria?” The answer began with the sky. It turned out that the Mars line from her chart runs right through here. Mars over a place turns up the burning, the speed and the defence, and since the closest people are right there, they are the ones who catch it.

We read it together. Since then, whenever we come back, we both know what switches on. She catches it in herself earlier, I stop taking it personally. The arguments did not disappear — they simply last three minutes instead of three days.

This is astrocartography in the Celestial Teacher — your chart spread out over the earth. There are places where one planet sits directly above your head and everything to do with it comes through several decibels louder.

How to write your own question

Write it the way you would say it to a friend who already knows the story. No ornament, with the real words. “Will we be together?” is a beginning. “Why do I stay with someone who never quite decides?” already opens the theme.

Put one concrete situation inside it. One person, one decision, one fear. If the theme is a relationship from years ago, say so — the chart will look exactly there.

And leave room for an answer that may surprise you. The most useful readings come from questions where you secretly know half the answer already and are waiting for someone to say it out loud, so that pretending you did not hear it is no longer an option.

After the answer comes the movement

What you read becomes yours the moment you do something with it. Sometimes that is a conversation you have been postponing for months. Sometimes it is to stop writing first for one week and see what happens. Sometimes it is one sentence said without detours.

Then comes the next question, and it is usually more precise than the first, because you have seen where to ask it from. That is how a love question travels — from “does he love me” to “what do I want” and from there to “am I ready to ask for it out loud”.

If you have not been into the game yet, start from About the game. And when the theme reaches the birth chart, the periods and the dates, go on to The Celestial Teacher.

Frequently asked questions about love in the game

Can I ask about a specific person?

Yes, and the more concrete the person and the situation, the more precise the answer. The Love room reads your chart and answers about you — what connects you to this person, what you look for in him and what is in your hands.

Do I need his date of birth?

For the Love room your own is enough. When you want to see the two charts side by side, you go into Compatibility — there his date, place and time are needed, if you know them.

What is the difference between Love and Karma?

Love reads your way of loving and answers about the relationship in front of you. Karma looks further back — the family line, the repetitions and the bills that have been dragging along since before you. One and the same question gets two different answers, both of them useful.

How many questions should I ask at once?

One. A single question takes the whole attention and the whole depth. The next one can come straight afterwards, and the game keeps the earlier ones so it can connect the themes over time.

How much does one reading cost?

One reading in the Love room is 3.33 €, and the same in Karma. Compatibility opens with a subscription — putting the two charts together is free, and 3.33 € unlocks the full reading. The first seven days in the game are free and no bank card is required to begin.

What if my question is about work or money?

Then you go into the matching room — the Gifts look at work, Money looks at money. The love theme often shows up there too, because the worth you grant yourself travels with you everywhere.
