A written tarot reading — how it works and what you receive

The conversation ends and your memory is what stays behind. Memory is a wonderful thing, except it holds its own opinion about what deserves keeping. Twenty minutes later a person often remembers two sentences out of ten — usually the one that pleased them most and the one they liked least. The rest somehow disappears between the phone, the work, the dinner and that eternal question: “Hold on, what did she say about March?”

With a written tarot reading the whole analysis stays in front of you. You can open it a week later, three months later or half a year later and read word for word what I wrote, how I looked at each position, and how much of it has already begun to unfold in your life.

That is one of the reasons I love the written form. I have the time to look at your story in detail, and you can come back to the text as many times as you want. A sentence that passed almost unnoticed on the first reading often takes on a completely different meaning a few months later. Life has an interesting habit of adding its exclamation marks a little later.

Vanya — the Empress
Vanya · the Empress

Every written reading I do myself — I am Vanya. I read your description carefully, I work with the cards on your particular question, and then I write the analysis for your situation personally. That way I have the whole story in front of me, and you receive a text you can read again once the emotion of the first moment has passed and you see the words with different eyes.

Below I have gathered everything worth knowing before you order: what you receive, how you choose the type of reading, what it helps me to hear from you, how the ready themes work, when a personal reading is the better choice, what questions you can ask, what it costs and why the answer takes up to seven working days.

What a written tarot reading is

A written reading is a personal tarot reading that I turn into a detailed text about your particular question. I take in the story you sent me, I work with the cards, I look at every position and then I tie it all together into one whole analysis.

Two people can choose the same spread, “Where is our relationship going?”, and receive completely different texts. One of them may be six weeks into a relationship that began beautifully and where the other person has lately grown distant. The second may be eighteen years into a marriage where the feelings are still there, but the conversations have gradually turned into “Who is picking up the child?”, “Did you pay the electricity?” and “Did you buy bread?”. The question is similar; the life behind it is entirely different.

That is why your description matters so much. It gives me the place, the time, the relationships between the people and everything that has already happened. When I know the story, I can read one and the same position according to your actual case.

In the text I explain what each position means for your situation, how the separate parts connect and what overall direction is taking shape. A person can have feelings and at the same time be afraid of a decision. They can have an opportunity in front of them and keep postponing. They can want change while their actions lead somewhere else. It is precisely the connection between all these layers that makes a written reading interesting.

The finished text comes to you by email and you also have it on your “My orders” page. Some people print it out; others open it a few months later and find a sentence they almost walked past the first time. The written word has one great advantage — memory is free to edit its recollections, while a text is considerably more stubborn.

The reading is written in the language the order was made in: Bulgarian, English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese.

The three kinds of written reading

There are three of them: a reading by theme, a personal reading and a yearly forecast. With the thematic one you choose a ready spread whose positions are set in advance. With the personal one you ask up to ten questions of your own. The yearly forecast looks at twelve months ahead, and you can add up to ten questions of your own to it as well.

Which suits you best depends on your story. If you have one clear question and you find a ready spread that covers it exactly, the thematic reading will probably be enough. If your question has several parts and love, work, money or some large change have gathered in one place, the personal reading gives you more room. If you want to see a whole period of your life month by month, then the yearly forecast is the one to choose.

A reading by theme

With the thematic reading you choose one of the thirty ready spreads. Each has its own title, a short explanation and positions set in advance, so even before ordering you know which questions will be looked at.

Once you have chosen the spread, you describe your situation. What helps me most is to know who the people in the story are, what the relationship between you is, how long you have known each other or been together, what has happened lately and what exactly makes you ask this question now.

For example, if you choose “Will he come back to me?”, you could write to me: “Peter and I were together for two years. We separated three weeks ago after an argument about our future. Since then we text every few days, but neither of us speaks openly about getting back together. I want to understand whether he intends to return to the relationship and how things between us are developing.”

Another story might be described like this: “Ivan and I separated a year ago. After the break-up we had almost no contact, and a week ago he wrote to me again; since then we talk every day. I know he was in another relationship during that time. I want to understand why he is coming back now and whether he genuinely wants us to try again.”

And a third case: “Officially we have been separated for two months, but we still speak every day, we see each other, and in practice almost nothing between us has ended. I want to understand whether there is a direction towards really coming back together or whether we will stay in this in-between place for a long time.”

That is exactly how it helps to write to me: who the person is, what your history is, when the change came, how you communicate now and what you want to understand. I do not need a biography starting from kindergarten, unless kindergarten, for some inexplicable reason, is genuinely part of the love story.

The thematic reading costs less, because the questions and the structure already exist. The analysis itself is still written personally for your case.

A personal reading

With the personal reading you can ask up to ten questions of your own and tell me the whole story that holds them together. This one suits you when a single ready question does not cover everything you want to understand.

With work, for example, you may want to know whether to stay where you are, what another offer would bring you, how the change would affect your income, whether there is potential for a business of your own, what risk you are taking and which choice has the better prospect. That is already one case looked at from several sides.

The same goes for love. You may want to understand what the person feels, why they are pulling away, whether there is a prospect of a life together, what stands in the way of the relationship, what depends on you, what depends on them, and how your life would unfold along the different possibilities.

It helps when the questions look at different parts of the situation. If we ask “Will we be together?” ten times with a slightly different word order, we are unlikely to get ten new chapters of the same story merely because we were persistent.

A yearly forecast

The yearly forecast covers twelve months ahead, month by month. I look at the main lines in love, work, money and health, and you can add up to ten questions that matter particularly to you.

Many people order it around their birthday or at the start of the calendar year, but you can have it done in any month. If you order in April, we look at the period from April onwards. If you order in October, we begin in October. Your life keeps its own calendar and there is no reason for everything interesting to wait for the first of January.

The yearly forecast is especially useful if a period with more change is ahead of you — a new job, your own business, a move, a separation, a new relationship, a financial decision, or several important choices at once. Afterwards you can go back to the separate months and compare what was written with what is already unfolding.

Four themes and thirty ready spreads

The ready spreads are divided into four large themes: Love, Karma, Money and Career. Each has between five and seven positions, which lets the question be looked at from several sides without turning one message on Messenger into a three-volume family chronicle.

Love

Love is the largest theme and holds fifteen spreads. That is hardly a surprise, because the sentence “What is going on between us?” can contain at least twenty different stories.

There are spreads for a new person entering your life, for a relationship that began beautifully and gradually changed direction, for a powerful meeting that feels like fate, for a bond whose future you want to understand, for a former partner, for someone who is still in your thoughts, and for those moments when you are already asking yourself how long it is sensible to wait.

Among the ready ones are “Who is coming close to my heart?”, “Why does love never stay with me?”, “A fated meeting or an illusion?”, “Where is our relationship going?”, “Will he come back to me?”, “Does he still think of me?”, “Should I let him go completely?” and eight more.

Choose the spread by the question that genuinely occupies you. A romantic title is a fine thing, but we are still after an answer about your life.

Karma

Karma holds five ready spreads for stories where you sense a deeper cause behind the present situation: a pattern that repeats, a strong bond with someone you have known for a relatively short time, a fear that appears in different circumstances, a gift you keep returning to, or a plot that changes the people and the years and still looks suspiciously like the previous one.

The spreads look at the karmic lesson in this life, the trace of a past life, the karmic thread between two people, the blocks and the gifts, and the whole path of the soul.

Money

The Money theme also has five spreads: the energy of abundance, the current financial potential, the inherited patterns and the fears around money, the meeting between spirit and matter, and the direction of income in the coming months.

A financial question is rarely settled by a single number. You can earn well and be permanently afraid that it will all end. You can have a wonderful idea and postpone it for three years while you wait for some legendary Monday on which you will suddenly feel entirely ready. You can work a great deal and wonder why the effort does not turn into the result you expect.

So with the financial spreads I look at the opportunities, at the way you use them, and at the patterns that shape your decisions.

Career

Career holds five ready spreads: the professional calling, changing jobs, growth where you already are, a business of your own, and the balance between working life and private life.

“Should I change jobs?”, for instance, may come from someone exhausted by their present place, from someone with a good position and a new offer of more money, from someone who dreams of their own business, or from someone whose career is going beautifully while their private life is probably already preparing a formal complaint.

With these spreads I look at the direction, the opportunities, the risks, the development and the personal potential.

Why the questions in the thematic spreads are set in advance

In the spread “Where is our relationship going?”, for example, what is looked at is the present dynamic between the two of you, the other person's feelings, the main difficulty, what can help, and the likely direction of the relationship.

These positions are set in advance, so even before ordering you know what will be looked at. With the personal reading the questions come from you and the whole frame is built around your particular case.

Your description matters in both. A position about the other person's feelings has a different context in a new relationship, in a break-up from last week and in a marriage of twenty years. The cards are part of the story, and the story helps me understand where exactly you stand within it.

What to write in the description

When you fill in the description, tell me the situation in a way that lets me understand what happened and why you are asking this question. It helps most to include the names or the roles of the people, the relationship between you, how long the story has been going on, the important events so far, what has changed lately, how you are in touch at the moment and what you most want to clear up.

If the question is about love, you could write something like: “Nikolay and I have been together for four years. Since February we have lived in different cities because of his work. At first he said he would come back after a few months, but he has already postponed it twice. We see each other at weekends and we talk every day, yet I feel the distance growing. I want to understand how he sees our relationship, whether he genuinely intends to come back, and what direction we have over the coming months.”

If the question is about work, you could write: “I have been with the same company for nine years. I have a good salary and a secure position, but over the last two years there has been almost no development. I received an offer from a smaller company with higher pay and more responsibility. I am hesitating because of the risk, and I want to understand which of the two has the better prospect for me.”

With a financial question you could write: “For two years I have had an idea for my own business. I have done part of the preparation, but I keep putting off the start. I have funds I could put in at the moment, and I am unsure whether the timing is right. I want to understand what potential the venture has, what is stopping me, and what I should pay the most attention to.”

In other words, give me the facts that matter for the question: who is involved, how the story began, what changed, what is happening now and what you want to understand from the reading. You can write completely naturally, the way you would tell me the story in person. If there is a detail you think is important, add it. I would rather know why a certain behaviour worries you than guess what lies behind two sentences of description.

If the subject is a sensitive one, write it in the words that come easiest to you. The text is for your order, and its purpose is to give me enough information to work with the actual situation.

How to word the questions for a personal reading

With the personal reading you can ask up to ten questions. It works best when each one looks at a different side of the same case.

If the subject is a relationship, the questions could be, for example: “What is really happening between us at the moment?”, “What does he feel for me?”, “What is stopping our relationship from developing?”, “How does he see the future of the relationship?”, “What depends on me?”, “What depends on him?”, “How would the relationship develop over the coming months?”, “What am I missing in this situation?”, “What will the decision to stay bring me?”, “What direction opens for me if I decide to go on alone?”

With a professional case you can ask about your present job, the new possibility, your income, your development, the risk, the right moment for a change, a business of your own and your strengths. That way the ten questions work together and give a far fuller picture.

What you receive in the finished text

You receive a detailed written reading on the chosen positions or on your own questions. I look at each part separately and then tie all the positions together into one analysis.

One position may speak of feelings, another of fear, a third of action. A person can love and still postpone an important step. They can want change and at the same time be afraid of the consequences. They can have an opportunity and let it pass. That is why the connection between the positions matters so much to me.

When a particular period takes shape, I note it as a marker. In tarot, time is part of the likely development and depends on people's decisions too. The universe has yet to issue me a notarised schedule, however practical that would be.

The written form is valuable precisely because of these details. In a conversation a person easily hears “there is a possibility, if…”, and a few days later all that remains in memory is “there is a possibility”. In a text even the small word “if” stays where it was. And quite often it is the most important one.

When the reading reaches you

The finished text arrives within seven working days. The deadline is the same for the thematic reading, the personal one and the yearly forecast, and it holds for every subscription level.

I often send the finished analysis earlier, and the official deadline is seven working days because every written reading I do myself. I read the description, I work with the cards, I write the analysis and then I go over it again. During the same days there are other people waiting for their texts, so I would rather give a real deadline and have the time to do every order properly.

After the payment you receive a confirmation by email and the order appears in “My orders”. When the text is ready, a second letter comes. If the description is missing something I need in order to understand the question properly, I may write to you for a clarification.

Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays do not count as working days. If you order on a Friday evening, Monday is the first working day. Fate probably works at weekends too; I still use a calendar.

What it costs

The thematic reading is 70 €, the personal one is 100 € and the yearly forecast is 150 €. With a paid subscription the price is lower according to your level. At Initiate level the thematic reading is 49 €, the personal one is 70 € and the yearly forecast is 105 €.

At the other paid levels the reduced price is calculated automatically from your subscription once you are signed in. The trial period and gifted access use the standard price. If you expect to use the written readings more than once, an active paid subscription is by far the better arrangement, because every following order costs you less according to your level. That holds for the thematic readings, for the personal ones and for the yearly forecast. The higher your level, the larger the reduction, and the written readings have no monthly limit — you can use them as many times as you need. So the subscription gives you the Game of the Soul itself and at the same time makes my personal written readings noticeably more affordable.

The written readings have no monthly limit. If you are a subscriber and in one month you need a thematic reading about love, then a personal one about work and later another on a different question, you can order them. The reduced price applies at every order according to your level.

How this differs from the rooms in the Game of the Soul

FatedWays has a number of rooms where you receive a reading straight away — Love, Money, Karma, The Lineage, The Celestial Teacher, Tarot and others. They are handy when you have a question right now and want to look at the subject from a particular angle immediately.

The written reading is my personal work on your particular case. I read the story, I work with the cards and I write the whole analysis myself. So the two forms complement each other well — the room gives you a first direction, while the written reading lets us look in much more detail at a large question that keeps occupying you.

If your subject is love, you can begin with Love. For questions around the family, the generations and inherited patterns you can use The Lineage. If the subject has to do with income and financial direction, you can go into Money.

How to order

First you choose the kind of reading. With the thematic one you choose the theme and the particular spread, and then you fill in the description. With the personal one and the yearly forecast you also add your own questions. At the end you make the payment.

You do not need an account to look through the options. If you are already a subscriber, sign in before ordering so that the reduced price for your level is applied automatically.

Before you send the order, read the description and the questions once more. If you have written Ivan in three places and one of the people is actually Ivo, this is the perfect moment to save the plot before the cards are drawn into the family misunderstanding.

When a written reading suits you best

A written reading is especially useful when you are making an important decision, choosing between two possibilities, watching a relationship go in circles, seeing a particular life theme repeat, facing a large change, or holding several connected questions you want looked at together.

It also suits people who express themselves better in writing. Some can speak beautifully about anything until the conversation reaches their own love story. Then I usually hear: “It is very complicated, I will tell you the short version”, and after “the short version” arrive twelve years of history, an ex-wife, a mother-in-law, two house moves and a flat with a mortgage. In writing you have the time to decide what matters and to tell me at your own pace.

When to choose a thematic and when a personal reading

If you read the title of a ready spread and recognise your question at once, the thematic reading will probably give you what you are after. If you see parts of your story in several different spreads, or your case spans more than one area — love and moving, work and money, a divorce and a new relationship, your own business and family obligations — the personal reading gives you more room.

The simplest guide is to ask yourself how many separate things you want to understand. One main question usually fits well into a thematic reading. A story with several connected questions is better suited to a personal one.

What a written reading can give you

Tarot can help you see the relationships between people, their motives, the fears, the possibilities, the likely developments and the choices in front of you. It can give you another vantage point on a situation you are so emotionally involved in that part of the picture is already hard to see from the inside.

A reading can turn your attention to a detail you keep passing by, outline a likely direction, or even lead you to ask an entirely different question from the one you started with.

The future moves along with our decisions. If one direction looks likely under the present circumstances and two months later you change your job, your city, your partner and your country, life will quite reasonably carry on along a new line.

I give you my reading of the cards for this moment and for the question you come with, and I write what I see, including when the answer is different from the one you were hoping for. If every answer were always lovely and convenient, I would probably be making greeting cards. I work with tarot.

Frequently asked questions about the written tarot reading

How long does the answer take?

The finished text arrives within seven working days. The deadline holds for the thematic reading, the personal one and the yearly forecast. You receive the text by email and it is also kept in “My orders”.

Do I need a subscription in order to place an order?

Anyone can order a written reading. A paid subscription gives a reduced price according to your level. Guardian, Seer and Initiate each have their own prices, applied automatically once you are signed in.

Which language will I receive the text in?

The text is written in the language the order was made in. The languages available are Bulgarian, English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.

Can I ask questions of my own?

With the personal reading and the yearly forecast you can ask up to ten questions of your own. With the thematic one the positions are set in advance, and you describe your story so that I can work with the right context.

What is the difference between the thematic and the personal reading?

With the thematic one you choose a ready spread whose positions are set in advance. With the personal one the questions come from you and are looked at as parts of one whole case. The personal reading takes more individual work, which is why it costs more.

Where do I receive the finished reading?

You receive it at the email address the order was made with, and on the “My orders” page in your profile. So you can open it again whenever you want.

What should I do if I have more than one subject?

If the subjects are parts of one larger story — love, a move and work, for instance — the personal reading lets us look at them through different questions. For entirely separate cases it is better to use separate readings, otherwise we risk producing a family saga with a financial appendix and a romantic subplot in a single volume.

Can I order more than one written reading in a month?

Yes. The written readings have no monthly limit. You can order as your need arises, and with an active paid subscription the reduced price applies at every order according to your level.

What happens if I have left out an important detail?

If something I need in order to understand the question properly is missing, I can write to you by email for a clarification. So please use an email address you actually check.

Can I ask about my relationship with another person?

Yes. You can ask about the bond between you, the other person's attitude towards you, the dynamic that has formed and the likely direction. It helps when some of the questions also look at your own place in the story — what depends on you, what choice you have, and how the different decisions could shape your life.

How does this differ from a reading in the rooms of the Game of the Soul?

The rooms in FatedWays give a reading straight away and suit a question you want to look at right now. The written reading I do myself for your particular case, which is why it takes up to seven working days. The two forms complement each other well.

How much does a written tarot reading cost?

The thematic reading is 70 €, the personal one is 100 € and the yearly forecast is 150 €. With a paid subscription the price is lower according to your level. At Initiate level the sums are 49 €, 70 € and 105 € respectively.

If I have already used a room in FatedWays on the same subject, is a written reading still worth it?

Yes. If the subject keeps mattering to you and you want a more detailed personal analysis, you can go on with a written reading. You can also tell me what answer you received in the room and what in it led you to ask the next question. That gives me more context for your story.

When a question keeps coming back

There are questions we get an answer to and walk on from. And there are those that appear in the morning, in the evening and especially five minutes after we have sworn to ourselves: “I am not going to think about this any more.”

For those stories the written form is particularly valuable. You have a concrete text you can return to, to see what I wrote then, what has already unfolded, and whether your question today is still the same one.

If you already know what your subject is, you can look through the three kinds, the thirty ready spreads and the prices. If you are hesitating between a thematic and a personal reading, consider how many separate questions your story actually carries. That answer usually settles which form will serve you best.
