A meeting with six possible versions of your life
Imagine you are walking down a familiar street and someone calls you by name. You turn and freeze for a moment. Facing you is a person with your face, but with a different look in the eyes. They smile as if they have been waiting for this meeting for a long time.
“Do we know each other?” you ask, although the answer is already puzzling you.
“Quite well. I am the person you could have become after that choice.”
Something comes to mind at once. A conversation you put off. An invitation you turned down. A person you let walk away. Or a wish you keep promising that its time will come.
“And how do you live?” you ask.
“I’ll show you. Only tell me one thing first: do you still want the same thing?”
The question catches you unprepared. Because you can spend a long time imagining what would have happened after a different choice, and meanwhile you yourself have already become another person. Life loves details like that. You have only just decided what you want, and it turns out you also need to get to know your present “I”.
This spread is for you if you feel you are on the threshold of a change, if you keep returning to an old decision or if you are asking yourself where to go next. It also suits the times when everything looks fine on the outside, and inside you are missing desire, closeness or a sense of your own direction. Perhaps you are waiting for an answer from someone. Perhaps you have long known your own, and you are still gathering the courage to say it.
“All right, but what will I find out about myself?”
You will look at how fear influences your decisions, what can change with more courage and which desire still matters to you. You will also meet the old pain that interferes with the present, you will see your current path more clearly and you will look for a way to use what you have learned from here on. The interpretations combine Tarot, runes and Lenormand into symbolic stories through which you can recognise your own feelings, habits and possibilities.
“So I’ll see what I could have been?”
You will get a reason to look at the person you are now as well. To tell apart what still excites you, what you have outgrown and what deserves a next step. The possible realities are mirrors for reflection, and the most personal discovery will be the one in which you recognise your own story.
Now look at the six images and choose one. Trust the first one that caught your attention, through a person, a gesture, a colour or a feeling. Let the choice be quick and natural. It is enough to feel: “I want to find out what is waiting for me behind this image.”
Remember the number and open the matching variant. Each choice will lead you through six realities: fear, courage, the soul, pain, the present path and the return to yourself. Read them in order, as one continuous story. Notice which sentence made you glad, which one made you fall silent and where you recognised a desire that is still waiting for your answer.
“And if two images draw me?”
Start with the first one your eyes went to. After you have read its story, you can look at the second as an additional point of view. Give yourself time to feel each message before you go on to the next.
Look at the images once more. Which of them makes you pause for a moment? Choose its number and begin. You may find that your next direction is already calling through something quite familiar: a desire that still brings you to life.
Variant 1
You walk into a small café and notice someone by the window. They look up, smile and point you to the empty chair. They look so much like you that for a moment you forget why you came in. The same eyes, the same expression, even that barely noticeable gesture you make when you’re thinking over what to say. Only their gaze is different — more open, as if they have already made a decision you are still circling around.
“What would have happened if I had tried?” — you ask them. The person laughs: “Sit down. I’ll tell you. Just order yourself a coffee, because you’ve lived quite a few lives inside your own thoughts.”
The first portal introduces you to the possible directions of your life. Each of them reveals what happens when fear, courage, pain or your deepest desire gains more influence over your decisions. As you read, you may recognise yourself in more than one picture. A person is complex enough to dream of change in the morning and, by evening, to have come up with seven perfectly valid reasons to put it off.
How do I live when I try to meet other people’s expectations?
Tarot: The Hermit, Four of Cups, Two of Swords, Eight of Swords, Ten of Wands. Runes: Isa, Nauthiz, Thurisaz, Hagalaz, Perthro. Lenormand: Mountain, Scythe, Clouds, Book, Mice.
In the morning you open your eyes and mentally run through who expects what from you. The day quickly fills up with work, favours, promises and conversations, after which your own plans once again remain unfinished. The Ten of Wands and the Mice describe the gradual exhaustion that comes from this way of ordering your priorities. You manage a great many things, but satisfaction finds it harder and harder to catch up with you.
The Hermit and the Four of Cups show you drifting away from your own desires. Someone asks how you are and gets the usual answer, while the real one waits for the evening, when you are alone. The Two of Swords and the Eight of Swords point to a decision you keep putting off because of the possible reactions. It could be a conversation about your relationship, a change at work or saying no to a duty that has long been beyond your strength.
Isa and the Mountain reinforce the feeling that every change requires an enormous effort. Nauthiz, however, shows a need that is becoming harder and harder to ignore. In this symbolic picture the first signal is irritation at a small request you would once have answered right away. Behind it there is probably a tiredness you have kept quiet about for a long time.
Tarot: The Sun, Queen of Wands, Three of Pentacles, Knight of Cups, Ace of Wands. Runes: Sowilo, Kenaz, Ehwaz, Ansuz, Fehu. Lenormand: Heart, Ring, Garden, Stars, Anchor.
Remember when you last talked about something with shining eyes. The Sun and the Queen of Wands bring back the image of your vitality — the enthusiasm, the sense of humour, the desire to show what you can do. This part of you still exists, even if lately it gets free time only after everybody else.
The Three of Pentacles, the Ace of Wands and Kenaz point to an ability that can be developed. You may have set aside a creative pursuit, a course of study or an idea for a shared project. The appearance of someone with a similar interest could reawaken your curiosity. A conversation that begins in the most ordinary way may remind you how good you feel when you take part willingly.
The Knight of Cups, the Heart and the Ring add the need for a closeness in which you are known beyond your usefulness. You long for someone to take an interest in what excites you, what you hope for and what you are missing. For such a meeting to happen, you will have to gradually show more of yourself, including the desires you have played down until now.
Tarot: Death, The Magician, Six of Swords, Knight of Swords, The Devil. Runes: Raido, Jera, Mannaz, Algiz, Dagaz. Lenormand: Key, Paths, Broom, Sun, Snake.
This version of you would tell you: “You already know what exhausts you. Allow yourself to take it seriously.” Death and the Devil point to a worn-out pattern you have grown used to. You may be treating other people’s displeasure as proof that you have behaved badly, and so you give up on your intention at the very first sign of resistance.
The Magician shows the possibilities available to you, and the Six of Swords — the gradual drifting away from such a dependence. The Knight of Swords adds a warning about a sharp conversation after a long silence. It is better for the important words to be spoken while you can still choose them.
The Key and Raido point to a first decision, after which the direction starts to become clear. Jera suggests that the new behaviour will require repetition. For a personal look at this theme you can visit the room “The Crossroads” with the question: “Which choice am I putting off because of other people’s expectations, and what is important for me to understand before I make it?”
What kind of life do I create when I give my desire a chance?
Tarot: The Fool, King of Wands, Six of Wands, The Empress, The Star. Runes: Tiwaz, Sowilo, Eiwaz, Fehu, Gebo. Lenormand: Stork, Key, Sun, Letter, Ring.
Your phone lights up with a reply to a message you spent a long time hesitating over whether to send. You read it twice and feel that pleasant excitement in which, for a moment, the future seems more spacious. The Fool and the Star describe the readiness to set out towards what you want with curiosity and hope.
The King of Wands and the Empress show a person who takes an active part in creating their own life. You put forward ideas, state your interest, take responsibility for your undertakings. The Six of Wands points to recognition that may come after you present your work, complete a task successfully or boldly state your position.
The Letter and the Ring give the interpretation a concrete direction: an invitation, a proposal for collaboration, an agreement or a conversation about commitment. Gebo underlines mutual participation. In this reality you begin to tell apart the people who respond with actions, and you naturally turn more of your attention towards them.
Tarot: The Wheel of Fortune, Eight of Pentacles, Nine of Cups, Three of Wands, Queen of Pentacles. Runes: Othala, Berkana, Laguz, Uruz, Jera. Lenormand: Fish, Tree, Garden, Anchor, Stars.
The first attempt has already taken shape. The Eight of Pentacles and the Queen of Pentacles show a skill mastered, better organisation and a confidence built up through practice. Something you once did with hesitation has gradually become part of your strengths.
The Three of Wands and the Garden widen your surroundings. Possible expressions of this are work with people from another town, presenting to a new audience or a contact who opens up a wider market for you. The Fish and the Anchor point to potential for income and stability when enthusiasm is backed by clear terms and persistence.
The Nine of Cups adds personal pleasure in what you have achieved. You come home after a full day and feel that you have put your strength into something of your own. Jera is a reminder of the time during which this result was ripening. Part of the success came on the ordinary days, when you kept learning and working without any particular outward signs.
Tarot: Ace of Swords, Justice, King of Pentacles, Temperance, Nine of Pentacles. Runes: Mannaz, Raido, Ansuz, Kenaz, Dagaz. Lenormand: Book, Heart, House, Scythe, Paths.
You can take on the clarity with which this version of you names its intentions. The Ace of Swords and Ansuz point to a conversation in which you say exactly what you are offering, what you expect and what you are prepared to do. Justice adds the need for fair terms, especially when it comes to work, money or a shared commitment.
The King of Pentacles and Temperance show a measured approach to risk. A brave choice can begin with research, a trial period or preparation that lets you keep the security you need. The Book suggests that part of the hesitation will fade once you get concrete information.
The Nine of Pentacles points to greater independence. Take from this reality the habit of trusting your own judgement once you have checked the facts. Someone else’s advice can be useful, and the final decision deserves to bear your signature too.
How do I live when I follow what feels meaningful to me?
Tarot: Queen of Cups, Four of Swords, Six of Pentacles, The High Priestess, Seven of Swords. Runes: Perthro, Isa, Eiwaz, Algiz, Laguz. Lenormand: Book, Coffin, Fox, Mountain, Scythe.
You are sitting with a book or listening to music, and for the first time in ages your evening stays free. You feel how tired you have been only when you stop rushing. The Four of Swords and Isa show a pause in which you begin to tell your own needs apart from the habit of being constantly available.
The Seven of Swords and the Fox point to the role you have used to adapt to your surroundings. You may have been hiding your sensitivity, turning everything into a joke or passing off tiredness as being busy. The High Priestess and the Queen of Cups show greater honesty with yourself. You now notice when you are enjoying something and when you are taking part purely out of obligation.
The Coffin and the Scythe symbolise the end of a worn-out behaviour. The Six of Pentacles opens up space for help you can accept with gratitude. In this reality closeness also includes the possibility of someone taking care of you.
Tarot: Queen of Cups, The Magician, The Moon, The Lovers, Eight of Cups. Runes: Sowilo, Ansuz, Mannaz, Berkana, Jera. Lenormand: Stars, Child, Letter, Tree, Sun.
Someone shares something personal with you and, after the conversation, sighs with relief. You know how to ask a question that helps a person clear their thoughts, or how to find words for a feeling that has long remained unclear. The Queen of Cups, Ansuz and Mannaz point to sensitivity, powers of observation and an ability to communicate in a meaningful way.
The Moon and the Magician add imagination and creative expression. This potential can be developed through writing, images, storytelling, teaching or another activity in which your personal view has value. The Letter and the Child suggest a beginning: a text, an idea or a course of study that you approach with curiosity.
Jera and the Tree emphasise development over time. The Eight of Cups is a reminder to recognise the limits of your involvement, especially when others often look to you for support. You can explore this theme in the room “Gifts” with the question: “Which ability of mine is ready to be developed, and through what activity can I express it?”
Tarot: Knight of Cups, Ace of Cups, Queen of Swords, The World, Nine of Swords. Runes: Tiwaz, Hagalaz, Ehwaz, Fehu, Raido. Lenormand: Paths, Scythe, Bear, Broom, Clouds.
You are drawn by the feeling that you can be open and accepted with everything that excites you. The Knight of Cups and the Ace of Cups bring a longing for a sincere meeting, new inspiration or a pursuit that leads you back to your feelings. An invitation, a book or a conversation may awaken an interest you thought had passed.
The Nine of Swords shows the anxiety right before you respond. You begin to think through how you will look, whether you will be understood and what would happen if you were disappointed. The Queen of Swords helps you separate assumption from what is actually happening.
The World and Raido point to a widening of your personal experience. This reality draws you with the chance to get to know yourself outside your usual roles. You may discover that your interests have changed and that the person you are today wants different conversations, different surroundings and more sincerity.
How do I live when the past keeps shaping my expectations?
Tarot: Eight of Swords, Five of Cups, Ten of Swords, The Hanged Man, Four of Pentacles. Runes: Nauthiz, Isa, Thurisaz, Hagalaz, Eiwaz. Lenormand: Coffin, Mice, Mountain, Scythe, Clouds.
You get a good invitation and your first thought is what could go wrong. The Five of Cups and the Ten of Swords show the force of the disappointment you have lived through. The memory of it appears before curiosity does and gradually limits your readiness to trust.
The Four of Pentacles and the Eight of Swords point to a drive to keep control over every detail. You wait for more proof, a surer promise or a suitable turn of events. The Hanged Man shows how this caution can turn into prolonged delay, and the Mice — how much strength the constant expectation of trouble takes from you.
Eiwaz leaves room for gradual change. This picture deserves compassion, because it reveals a part of you that is still trying to protect you. Trust can start to recover through small experiences in which you receive respect, consistency and the right to set the pace yourself.
Tarot: Three of Swords, Seven of Cups, Nine of Wands, Justice, The Emperor. Runes: Tiwaz, Kenaz, Mannaz, Perthro, Laguz.
There are words left over that you wanted to say to someone of great importance to you. The Three of Swords and Justice point to the need for what you went through to be acknowledged. You may have received an explanation, an excuse or advice, when what you actually needed was for someone to listen to you to the end.
The Emperor brings up the theme of authority and rules. The pain may be linked to an experience in which someone else’s decision weighed more than your feeling. The Nine of Wands shows the caution that followed: you prepare to defend your position even before you know whether anyone is disputing it.
The Seven of Cups and Perthro point to the questions without answers. Some of them will probably remain open, but Laguz and Mannaz support the possibility of sharing how they have affected you. The most essential acknowledgement can begin with the simple sentence: “This hurt me and it deserves attention.” From it, a more caring attitude towards yourself is gradually born.
Tarot: The Star, Ace of Wands, Queen of Swords, Death, Six of Swords. Runes: Raido, Algiz, Dagaz, Ansuz, Berkana. Lenormand: Key, Sun, Ring, Book, Clover.
The Queen of Swords and the Book point to a clear understanding of the story you keep reliving. What exactly do you expect to happen — an apology, an explanation, a return or an acknowledgement? Once you name the expectation, you will see better how much of your present is tied to it.
Death and the Six of Swords show a gradual drifting away from an exhausting cycle. This may show up as a dispute that ends, a contact that changes or a decision to stop checking for a sign from a particular person. Algiz adds the right to protect your personal space while you find a new way of relating to what you went through.
The Star, the Ace of Wands and the Clover give hope through a small opportunity that reawakens your interest. It may be an invitation, a new pursuit or a meeting after which you realise you have had a pleasant time. Continue in the room “Letting Go” with the question: “Which of my expectations about the past takes the most strength from me, and how can I begin to free myself from it?”
What am I creating with my decisions now?
Tarot: The Wheel of Fortune, The Lovers, Eight of Pentacles, Queen of Swords, Ten of Cups. Runes: Gebo, Eiwaz, Mannaz, Tiwaz, Jera. Lenormand: Ring, Heart, Stars, Paths, Anchor.
You now see more clearly what you want to keep and what you are ready to change. The Lovers and the Queen of Swords combine feeling with judgement. You can strongly want a particular relationship or opportunity and at the same time notice the conditions its development depends on.
The Eight of Pentacles and Jera show a stage of building. Your efforts may seem ordinary — a conversation, a finished piece of work, a skill mastered, a promise kept — but it is through them that you get a clearer idea of what you can rely on. The Wheel of Fortune adds a change in circumstances that requires you to rethink part of your plans.
The Ten of Cups, the Heart and the Anchor point to a desire for lasting closeness and belonging. Your current path may bring you together with a person or surroundings where consistency will be especially valuable. You will recognise progress by the match between what was promised and what was done.
Tarot: The High Priestess, Three of Cups, The Devil, Five of Pentacles, The Empress. Runes: Hagalaz, Perthro, Fehu, Isa, Wunjo. Lenormand: Bear, Coffin, Fox, Broom, Birds.
The fear of loss is what steps in most strongly. The Devil and the Five of Pentacles show how convincing the thought can sound that an unsatisfying situation is bearable after all, because it is familiar to you. So you accept yet another delay or an unfavourable condition, while your own desire gradually loses its place.
The High Priestess and the Empress point to the need to create, to receive attention and to feel valued. Inside you probably sense the difference between what you need and what you have grown used to. The Birds and the Broom add the anxious thoughts that make this judgement harder.
Fehu and Wunjo bring the theme back to personal worth and satisfaction. An important conversation may show you to what extent the other side is ready to take part in the change. Their reaction will give you information you can use to make a better-informed choice.
Tarot: Temperance, Ten of Pentacles, Knight of Wands, Four of Cups, Seven of Swords. Runes: Tiwaz, Sowilo, Raido, Eiwaz, Algiz. Lenormand: Paths, Tree, Scythe, Stars, Bouquet.
Pay attention to how you react to disappointment. The Four of Cups and the Seven of Swords point to withdrawing, an evasive answer or a need left unspoken. After that the other person carries on in the old way, and you feel more and more strongly that you remain misunderstood.
Temperance suggests an earlier conversation, before what has piled up becomes too heavy. The Knight of Wands adds a readiness to act in line with what has been said. When you state a boundary, your behaviour afterwards gives it meaning. The person opposite you also bears responsibility for their part, and their response deserves to be taken into account.
The Ten of Pentacles and the Tree raise the question of a family belief you may be following out of habit. Did you learn that love requires endless patience, that money is not to be talked about or that a personal wish must always wait? In the room “The Lineage” you can ask: “Which family belief am I repeating in my current relationships, and what new choice suits me better?”
What happens when I accept the different sides of myself?
Tarot: Justice, The Magician, The World, Ten of Cups, Knight of Swords. Runes: Mannaz, Sowilo, Dagaz, Ansuz, Othala. Lenormand: Stars, Book, Ring, Sun, Scythe.
You are back in the café from the beginning. The person across from you listens, and gradually you understand why their gaze seems so familiar. In it you recognise your own desires, experiences and qualities, gathered together in a way you have until now seen only in pieces.
Mannaz and the World point to accepting the whole of your experience. Your caution helps you judge, your courage lets you try, and your sensitivity shows you what matters. Justice adds an honest reckoning, in which you also take into account the circumstances under which you made your earlier decisions.
The Magician and Ansuz give voice to the shared message: “Use what you have already learned.” The Book and the Scythe suggest that you can close an old conclusion about yourself. One failure is part of your story, and your future decisions also have at their disposal everything you learned after it.
Tarot: The Emperor, The Sun, Ace of Pentacles, Six of Wands, Queen of Pentacles. Runes: Fehu, Berkana, Raido, Ehwaz, Jera. Lenormand: House, Key, Heart, Garden, Anchor.
An opportunity appears to build something that fits more exactly the person you have become. The Emperor and the Queen of Pentacles combine structure with care. You decide more clearly where to put your effort, what terms to accept and when to give yourself a rest.
The Ace of Pentacles may show up as a concrete offer, a course, a paid task or the start of a project. The Six of Wands and the Garden point to visibility: you present a result, receive feedback or meet someone who values your skill. Ehwaz adds an opportunity for collaboration with better coordination among those involved.
The House, the Heart and the Anchor connect development with a feeling of belonging. You begin to choose surroundings in which you can both contribute and feel good. Jera shows that stability will build up gradually as the new decisions turn into a way of life.
Tarot: The Hierophant, The Star, Temperance, Queen of Wands, The Lovers. Runes: Othala, Algiz, Ansuz, Tiwaz, Mannaz. Lenormand: Tree, Sun, Scythe, Key, Letter.
Your direction is to give practical expression to what you believe in. The Hierophant and the Lovers link values with personal choice. The way you communicate, work, love and divide up your time gradually shows what really matters to you.
The Star and the Queen of Wands encourage you to share ideas and experience. People may begin to seek your opinion because of something you have been through or something you do well. Ansuz and the Letter support expression through conversation, text, teaching or a personal message that reaches the right person.
Temperance and the Tree add patience towards your own development. Othala points to the foundation you create for yourself and for those close to you. Meaning can reveal itself in very human things: work you care about, a friendship with mutual attention and a home you return to with relief.
Before you leave, the person across from you asks one last question: “Which part of my life did you find yourself wishing were yours?” The answer comes faster than you expect. It may be their openness, the pursuit they talk about with enthusiasm or the way they make their decisions.
The most personal message of the first portal lies exactly in this desire. You already recognise a direction that draws you. Until now you have probably seen it as a distant possibility, tied to a different character, a different age or more favourable circumstances. Now you can also see what is within your reach: a conversation to have, an interest to return to, an offer to look at more closely.
You get up from the table and for a moment glance towards the window. In the reflection you see your own face. You look the same, but you now know what you will answer when you next ask yourself whether it is worth trying.
I wish you the courage to give a chance to what brings you alive, and the patience to develop it. And if fear wants to go over the plan one more time, give it a sheet of paper and a pen — meanwhile, you can take the first step.
Variant 2
Water, intuition and choice
You are strolling by the water when you notice a small boat, ready to sail. The person beside it is pulling in the rope and looks at you with a smile.
“Are you coming?”
You almost answer before you have asked where it is going. Something in this invitation draws you in — the light above the water, the unknown shore, the chance for the day to go on differently. Then you begin to think over everything else. How long will it last? What if it rains? Are you even dressed for it? Your mind is already checking the forecast while the person is still waiting for an answer.
You know this feeling. A person, a place or a possibility draws you, and you try to work out where the excitement comes from. Are you sensing something important? Are you wishing very hard for it to be so? Or is a familiar experience waking hope in you again?
The second portal brings you face to face with the different answers. Through the six realities you will see how your life changes according to the way you listen to your feelings, check your impressions and let closeness in. The most personal discovery will concern the difference between what you sense, what you expect and what is actually happening.
How do I live when I try to predict everything?
Tarot: Four of Pentacles, The Devil, Nine of Swords, Seven of Cups, The Hanged Man. Runes: Isa, Thurisaz, Nauthiz, Hagalaz, Perthro. Lenormand: Mountain, Snake, Scythe, Book, Clouds.
Before you let yourself be glad about something, you check where the disappointment might come from. The Four of Pentacles and the Devil point to a strong need for control. You want to know how the relationship will develop, whether the offer will turn out well and what every change in someone else’s behaviour means. Even a pleasant excitement quickly turns into a task to be solved.
The Nine of Swords and the Seven of Cups show how your thoughts create a whole range of possible outcomes. One evening you see a shared future, the next you are already preparing for a break-up. The Hanged Man describes the consequence: between hope and apprehension, action stays postponed.
Isa and the Mountain strengthen the feeling of being stuck, and the Book and the Clouds show the incomplete information. In this reality you can spend a lot of time trying to predict someone else’s decision. Little by little you begin to feel tired from the waiting itself. The important question is how much uncertainty you can actually bear and when you need clearer conditions in order to continue.
Tarot: Ace of Cups, Six of Wands, King of Wands, The Star, Queen of Pentacles. Runes: Fehu, Berkana, Sowilo, Kenaz, Raido. Lenormand: Stork, Heart, Sun, House, Tree.
You have left immediate joy waiting until you get enough guarantees. The Ace of Cups and the Sun remind you of your ability to get carried away by a conversation, to accept an invitation and to spend a good day without knowing in advance what will follow it.
The King of Wands and the Six of Wands show a presence that grows brighter when you are interested and involved. You know how to draw attention with an idea, with a sense of humour or with the way you tell a story. The Star and Kenaz point to a desire that still inspires you, even though you have started to speak about it with more caveats.
The Queen of Pentacles, the House and the Tree add the need to feel good in your everyday life. You may have put off a trip, a change at home or a favourite pastime because you expect another part of your life to become clear first. This picture invites you to bring back some of the pleasure right now. Your own life deserves more than the role of a waiting room.
Tarot: The Magician, Three of Swords, The Chariot, Justice, Eight of Swords. Runes: Mannaz, Tiwaz, Algiz, Dagaz, Jera. Lenormand: Key, Cross, Letter, Paths, Scythe.
This version of you would say to you: “Admit what you already understand, even if it is still hard for you to accept.” Justice and the Key point to a truth that gradually takes shape through facts. You may be seeing a gap between words and actions, or realising that a possibility asks more of you than you are ready to give.
The Three of Swords and the Eight of Swords show the hesitation before the consequences of this admission. Once you name the situation clearly, you will have to decide how to take part from now on. The Magician and the Chariot bring your attention back to your part of the choice.
The Letter may point to a conversation, an answer or a clarification that will matter. The Scythe and Tiwaz support the decision to stop circling the subject after all this time. The most freeing words will probably be quite simple: what you see, what you feel and what you expect from here on.
What happens when I give my feeling a chance?
Tarot: The Fool, The Lovers, Queen of Wands, Eight of Wands, The Empress. Runes: Eiwaz, Ansuz, Gebo, Sowilo, Raido. Lenormand: Stars, Letter, Ring, Garden, House.
You accept an invitation and go to the meeting with curiosity. The conversation begins with something ordinary, then turns to trips, preferences, memories. You feel that you are enjoying it, and this time you show it. The Fool and the Lovers point to a readiness to take part in the experience with more openness.
The Queen of Wands and the Empress add warmth, attractiveness and a natural presence. You let the other person find out what you like. The Eight of Wands and the Letter suggest a chance of lively communication, a quickly agreed next meeting or a confession that makes the relationship clearer.
The Ring and Gebo put the emphasis on mutual choice. Courage in this reality shows itself in the willingness to let your interest be seen and to find out what response you get. The House adds the sense of closeness that is born when you gradually find a common language.
Tarot: Nine of Pentacles, King of Cups, The Magician, The Wheel of Fortune, The Sun. Runes: Fehu, Jera, Wunjo, Othala, Tiwaz. Lenormand: Anchor, Sun, Tree, Heart, Book.
You have created a life in which closeness gets a place among the other important things. The Nine of Pentacles and the Anchor show a rhythm of your own, interests and support. When you meet someone who excites you, you have something to share with them and something to come back to after the meeting.
The King of Cups points to a more mature way of expressing feelings. You can say that you were glad, that something hurt you or that you expect more clarity. The Book and the Tree show an acquaintance that deepens with time. Gradually you learn how the person reacts when tired, how they keep their agreements and how they treat what matters to you.
The Heart and the Sun support the possibility of warm, satisfying relationships. Jera reminds you that trust builds up through what you live through together. In this reality joy has a place while you are still getting to know each other, and decisions come with enough time and information.
Tarot: Ace of Pentacles, Queen of Swords, Knight of Wands, The Hierophant, Four of Wands. Runes: Algiz, Dagaz, Ehwaz, Ansuz, Berkana. Lenormand: Key, Stork, Scythe, House, Book.
Take the readiness to show what you want through a concrete gesture. The Ace of Pentacles and the Knight of Wands support an offer to meet, an accepted invitation or a first step towards something that attracts you. The Queen of Swords helps you express your intention in a way that can be understood, without expecting the other person to decipher your hints.
The Hierophant and the Four of Wands add the question of what closeness you are looking for. You may need a relationship with a shared direction, more regular meetings or more involvement in daily life. The Book points to getting to know someone, and the Key — to a conversation that shows you whether your wishes meet.
The Stork and Berkana suggest a chance of a new beginning through a change in your own participation. In the room “The Crossroads” you can ask: “Which possibility do I feel a real desire for, and what first step will help me get to know it?”
How do I live when I am better at telling my own feelings apart?
Tarot: Six of Cups, Four of Swords, The High Priestess, Nine of Pentacles, Eight of Wands. Runes: Isa, Perthro, Laguz, Sowilo, Algiz. Lenormand: Coffin, Book, Stars, House, Broom.
In this reality you have cut down the constant search for other people’s opinions on your personal experiences. After a meeting you give yourself time to feel how you are, before you tell everything and collect different interpretations. The High Priestess and the Four of Swords point to such an inner pause.
The Six of Cups brings your attention back to the way you learned to recognise love. You may discover that you have linked strong excitement with insecurity, or that you accepted care only when it came with sacrifice. The Book and Laguz support a gradual understanding of these connections.
The Nine of Pentacles and the House show a more comfortable presence in your own company. You begin to tell when you enjoy being with someone and when you are absorbed in the effort to win their attention. This difference makes your personal decisions clearer.
Tarot: Queen of Cups, Ace of Cups, The Moon, The Emperor, The Magician. Runes: Ansuz, Berkana, Kenaz, Ehwaz, Jera. Lenormand: Heart, Letter, Key, Garden, Bouquet.
You know how to catch the mood of a conversation and find the right way to join in. The Queen of Cups and the Moon show sensitivity to nuances — a pause, a change in the voice, a hesitation before an important word. This attentiveness can help you in communication when you also leave room for the other person’s explanation.
The Magician, the Emperor and Kenaz point to an ability to turn your impressions into something finished. You may write, create images, organise events or explain a complex subject in words that reach people. Your imagination gains more strength when you combine it with practice.
The Letter, the Garden and the Bouquet support sharing and a good response. Someone may ask you for a text, an idea or assistance precisely because of your personal sense of things. In the room “Gifts” you can ask: “Through what activity can I most fully develop my attentiveness, sensitivity and imagination?”
Tarot: The Hermit, The World, Three of Pentacles, The Chariot, Queen of Swords. Runes: Dagaz, Mannaz, Raido, Eiwaz, Othala. Lenormand: Paths, Bear, Letter, Clouds, Snake.
You are drawn by the sense of taking part in something meaningful. The Hermit and the Three of Pentacles show a wish to meet people with whom you can share what you have gathered and learn something new. Conversations that stay on the surface find it harder and harder to keep your interest.
The World and the Chariot point to widening your circle through travel, study or shared work. A contact from a distance may bring you a different view of a subject that has occupied you for a long time. The Letter suggests a beginning through a message or an invitation.
The Queen of Swords adds the ability to choose carefully. The Clouds and the Snake invite you to clarify complicated terms and to give yourself time to get to know the person or the situation. This reality draws you with the chance to be among people who value your contribution and leave room for your own point of view.
What happens when a past story goes on taking up my present?
Tarot: Eight of Swords, Five of Cups, The Hanged Man, Four of Pentacles, Ten of Swords. Runes: Thurisaz, Isa, Hagalaz, Nauthiz, Eiwaz. Lenormand: Mountain, Scythe, Coffin, Mice, Book.
You keep a memory that you return to in the hope of understanding something you missed. You read through an old conversation, recall the last meeting and once again reach the same painful place. The Five of Cups and the Ten of Swords show a loss whose meaning you are still searching for.
The Four of Pentacles and the Hanged Man point to a long emotional wait. Part of you still leaves room for an explanation, a return or a different ending. So new possibilities can seem far away, because your attention remains taken up by the past.
The Book symbolises the questions without answers, and the Mice — the strength that reliving them again and again takes from you. Eiwaz allows a gradual change in this relationship with the memory. You may begin to accept that the story was significant and that the continuation of your life deserves a direction of its own.
Tarot: Three of Swords, Five of Swords, Nine of Wands, The Lovers, The Empress. Runes: Tiwaz, Kenaz, Mannaz, Perthro, Laguz. Lenormand: Broom, House, Clouds, Letter.
What remains is the pain of the gap between the care you expected and the treatment you experienced. The Lovers and the Empress point to a significant relationship in which you placed your trust. The Three of Swords and the Five of Swords show a hurt after a conflict, a disappointment or words that have stayed in your memory.
The Nine of Wands reveals the caution that appeared afterwards. You may have begun to hide your needs in order to keep your dignity, or to prepare for rejection at the first sign of unclarity. The House and the Clouds point to confusion around the very sense of closeness and safety.
The Letter, Ansuz is absent from this position, but Laguz and Mannaz support sharing what you have been through with the right person. The most important admission may be how strongly you relied on this relationship and how hard it was for you to accept what happened. Words will help you tell the person you lost from the need that is still waiting for attention.
Tarot: The Sun, The Star, Death, Six of Swords, Temperance. Runes: Raido, Dagaz, Algiz, Ansuz, Berkana. Lenormand: Key, Heart, Ring, Book, Stork.
Temperance points to recovery through gradual changes and the right support. Death and the Six of Swords show you stepping away from behaviour that keeps bringing you back to the painful memory. You may stop checking a certain profile, put away the correspondence or change a habit connected with the waiting.
The Sun and the Star support a return to experiences that give you pleasure. The first good sign may be quite ordinary: you get absorbed in a conversation and only later notice that you have spent a few pleasant hours.
The Heart and the Ring leave room for a new closeness that you will get to know at your own pace. The Stork adds the possibility that the change begins through a different environment or a new pastime. In the room “Letting Go” you can ask: “Which expectation towards the past goes on taking up my present, and what will help me go on?”
What am I creating through my present participation?
Tarot: The Lovers, The Hierophant, The Wheel of Fortune, Nine of Cups, Six of Pentacles. Runes: Gebo, Jera, Raido, Mannaz, Fehu. Lenormand: Heart, Ring, Paths, Anchor, Garden.
Your present path raises the question of what mutuality looks like in everyday life. The Lovers and the Hierophant show a wish for a shared direction and similar values. It is becoming more and more important to you to understand what the relationship or the shared commitment means to each of those involved.
The Six of Pentacles and Gebo point to the visible exchange. You notice who seeks contact, who suggests a meeting, how agreements are kept and whether the interest continues after the first excitement. The Nine of Cups shows satisfaction when this exchange answers your needs.
The Ring and the Anchor support the chance of steadier growth. On a personal level this may show as more clearly stated intentions, and in shared work — as regular collaboration. The Wheel of Fortune and the Garden add a change in your surroundings that may bring you a suitable person or a new way to take part.
Tarot: The Devil, Four of Cups, Queen of Swords, Seven of Swords, The High Priestess. Runes: Hagalaz, Isa, Eihwaz, Perthro, Laguz. Lenormand: Snake, Fox, Coffin, Clouds, Scythe.
What interferes most strongly is the memory of an earlier disappointment. A delayed reply or a changed plan can wake a familiar feeling and quickly convince you that the story is repeating itself. The Devil and Isa point to an automatic reaction that arises before you have understood the present circumstances.
The Four of Cups and the Seven of Swords show the withdrawal that follows. You hide your interest, answer more briefly or decide in advance that the other person will not turn out to be reliable. The Queen of Swords can help with an accurate judgement when she has enough facts.
The High Priestess raises the important question of intuition. Notice whether your feeling is connected with a concrete observation or is being amplified by a series of imagined developments. The Clouds and the Fox encourage checking. A single clarifying conversation can show an essential difference between the past experience and the present communication.
Tarot: Justice, Queen of Cups, Nine of Pentacles, Knight of Swords, Five of Pentacles. Runes: Tiwaz, Sowilo, Kenaz, Ansuz, Othala. Lenormand: Key, Letter, Sun, Bouquet, House.
Rethink how quickly you turn down what you actually enjoy. The Nine of Pentacles shows independence, and the Five of Pentacles — a lack you have lived through, which may have taught you to expect little. When you receive attention, you are probably glad and almost at once begin to look for the hidden condition.
The Queen of Cups and the Bouquet encourage a more open acceptance of a kind gesture. You can say thank you, show that you are pleased and watch how the communication develops. Justice adds measure, and the Knight of Swords invites you to slow down the hasty refusal.
Ansuz and the Letter support clear expression. The sentence “I enjoyed that” gives the other person more direction than a polite smile behind which you hide your excitement. In the room “Love” you can ask: “What makes it hard for me to accept attention, and how can I recognise closeness in which the interest is mutual?”
What happens when my feelings and my judgement begin to help each other?
Tarot: The World, Justice, The Magician, The Star, The Emperor. Runes: Mannaz, Sowilo, Dagaz, Ansuz, Othala. Lenormand: Book, Key, Sun, Ring, House.
Each version of you brings a useful part of your experience. The dreamer notices the possibilities, the cautious one checks the conditions, the sensitive one feels the meaning of the meeting, and the decisive one proposes action. The World and Mannaz point to the ability to gather them into a more complete judgement.
The Magician shows how you can use these qualities according to the situation. The Emperor adds responsibility for the choice, and Justice — a readiness to take into account both the pleasant and the uncomfortable facts. So a strong feeling gets its place without deciding the whole matter on its own.
The shared message sounds like this: “Hear your first reaction and get to know what woke it.” The Book and the Key show an understanding that takes shape through observation and experience. Gradually you begin to recognise when your desire grows along with the real communication and when it exists mainly in your imagination.
Tarot: Ace of Pentacles, Queen of Pentacles, Temperance, Three of Wands, The Sun. Runes: Fehu, Berkana, Raido, Ehwaz, Jera. Lenormand: Garden, Anchor, Stork, Heart, Scythe.
A possibility may appear that excites you and has a real place in your life. The Ace of Pentacles and the Queen of Pentacles point to a beginning with a practical foundation. In relationships this may mean meetings that actually happen, a shared plan or clearer involvement in daily life.
The Three of Wands and the Stork add the theme of distance, travel or a change of surroundings. The Garden and Ehwaz support meeting someone through a shared interest, friends or a joint activity. The Heart shows a personal excitement that has a chance to grow through shared experience.
Temperance and Jera encourage getting to know each other gradually. You will be able to see how you feel together in different circumstances and how each of you takes part in shared decisions. The Sun gives this picture a warm ending: joy becomes more natural when what you live through confirms your hope.
Tarot: The Hierophant, The Lovers, Queen of Cups, The Sun, The Empress. Runes: Othala, Algiz, Ansuz, Tiwaz, Mannaz. Lenormand: Tree, Sun, Scythe, Key, Letter.
Your direction is to create more human closeness through the way you communicate and live. The Hierophant and Ansuz support the sharing of knowledge, and the Queen of Cups — attention to feelings. You can help someone feel understood through a precise question, a good story or your own attitude.
The Empress and the Sun add the creative side of this direction. A beautiful space, a shared table, a text, a meeting or a joint activity can become the way you gather people and bring them joy. The Lovers point to your personal choice of whom and what you want to put your heart into.
Othala and the Tree connect all this to the foundation you are building for yourself and for those close to you. Algiz reminds you of the boundaries you need. The more carefully you treat your own strength, the more fully you can share what you know how to do and what you love.
The person by the boat looks at you again. You have already understood what draws you — curiosity about the unknown shore and the wish, at least once, to respond to such an invitation. You come closer and ask where it is going, how long the trip will last and when it comes back.
You get the answers. You look at the water once more, then you climb aboard.
The second portal ends with this small choice. You have heard your desire, learned what you needed and decided to try. The same possibility exists in your relationships too, in your interests, in the meetings you keep putting off. You can show your excitement and go on getting to know the person. You can follow an idea and check how you feel once you start making it real.
A strong feeling deserves attention. Time, conversations and actions will help you understand what can grow from it.
I wish you to meet a closeness in which words and gestures match, and a possibility that goes on making you glad even after the first excitement. May you trust yourself more and more as you get to know what your heart is leading you towards.
Variant 3
You are looking for a document in an old drawer and you find an envelope of photographs. In one of them you are laughing broadly, next to people you lost touch with long ago. You remember the day. Back then you were telling everyone about a plan of yours with such confidence, as if all that remained was to settle the date.
You turn the photo over and read a few words in your own handwriting. You smile. That plan has survived several notebooks, two changes of address and an impressive number of “after the holidays”.
Then you look at your face again. What would the person in the photo ask you? Whether you have made their dream come true? Whether you still want it? Or whether in the meantime you have discovered something you had no inkling of back then?
The third portal brings you face to face with the different possible continuations of your story. In one you have stayed in the role everyone has grown used to. In another you have made a personal choice and borne the change that followed. You will also meet the one who still keeps an old disappointment, and the person who has already understood which desire they want to take with them from here on.
As you read, notice where you feel a living interest and where the only thing that appears is the thought that you have already put in too much to give up. Between these two feelings may lie your most important discovery.
How do I live when I stay in the role others have grown used to?
Tarot: The Hermit, Four of Pentacles, Eight of Swords, Ten of Wands, Two of Swords. Runes: Isa, Nauthiz, Thurisaz, Perthro, Hagalaz. Lenormand: Mountain, Clouds, Scythe, Coffin, Book.
In this reality everyone knows what they can expect from you. You will help, you will listen, you will go along with things and you will find a way to finish what has been started. The Ten of Wands shows how many responsibilities you have taken on, and the Hermit — how little of your own experience reaches the people around you.
At a family get-together they ask you about work, about shopping, about someone’s problem. The conversation rarely reaches the things that personally stir you. The Four of Pentacles and the Eight of Swords point to a fear of changing the established image. If you ask for more time, different relationships or a new direction, others will have to reconsider their expectations too.
The Two of Swords and Isa show the hesitation in the face of this change. Gradually you begin to feel irritated by roles you once filled willingly. The Book hints that a large part of you remains unknown to those close to you — especially the desires you have not yet spoken aloud.
Tarot: Queen of Wands, The Sun, Six of Wands, Three of Cups, The Empress. Runes: Fehu, Sowilo, Kenaz, Raido, Berkana. Lenormand: Heart, Stars, Stork, Ring.
You have left in the background the pleasure of taking part with your whole presence. The Queen of Wands and the Sun bring back the image of someone who tells stories with enthusiasm, laughs from the heart and offers ideas without first checking whether they suit everyone.
The Three of Cups points to friendships, invitations and shared experiences that have been getting less and less time. You may miss the company in which you were more spontaneous, or a person with whom you showed your more playful side. The Six of Wands adds the need to be noticed and valued for what you bring as a person.
The Empress, the Heart and Kenaz remind you of your creative and sensual world. Beauty, love, curiosity and pleasure deserve a place of their own in your day. This version of you still remembers what it is to look forward impatiently to a meeting and to begin something because you truly want to.
Tarot: Death, The Magician, Seven of Swords, Justice, Six of Swords. Runes: Dagaz, Tiwaz, Ansuz, Jera, Algiz. Lenormand: Paths, Key, Book, Scythe, Bear.
“Let them get to know the person you have become.” This is the message of this meeting. Death and the Six of Swords point to a change in your relationship with what is established. You may have long been different on the inside while on the outside you go on taking part in the old way.
The Seven of Swords and Justice show the price of this mismatch. You agree, and later you feel overlooked. You hide a wish, and later you feel bitter that nobody has noticed it. The Magician and Ansuz support expressing your own position more clearly.
The Bear and the Key point to a confidence that shows itself through a concrete choice. You can state how you want to spend your time, what change you are considering or what you expect from an important relationship. In the room “The Crossroads” you can ask: “Which old role has become too tight for me, and how do I make room for my present desires?”
What changes when I make the personal choice I keep putting off?
Tarot: The Fool, The Lovers, The Chariot, King of Pentacles, Queen of Cups. Runes: Eiwaz, Ansuz, Raido, Mannaz, Wunjo. Lenormand: Stars, Letter, Garden, House, Key.
In this reality you have already had the important conversation. You have said that you want to change direction, start living somewhere else, begin something of your own or change the way you live with another person. The Fool and the Chariot show things in motion after a personal choice, and the Lovers — the meaning of what lies behind it.
The first days feel unfamiliar. One person asks questions, another reminds you of the difficulties, and you yourself check whether you are prepared. The King of Pentacles adds practicality, while the Queen of Cups keeps attention on feelings — yours and those of the people affected by the decision.
The Letter and the Garden point to a contact through which a next opportunity may appear. The House raises the subject of the environment you want to live in. This version of you is freer, because it is already taking part in the change and can weigh up its real consequences.
Tarot: Nine of Pentacles, Ten of Cups, The Sun, Three of Pentacles, The Emperor. Runes: Othala, Fehu, Berkana, Sowilo, Jera. Lenormand: Anchor, House, Ring, Heart, Stork.
You have created an everyday life in which your own preferences are visible. In your home there is something chosen with pleasure. In your week there is time left for a meeting or an activity you look forward to. The Nine of Pentacles and the Sun show the satisfaction of these personal decisions.
The Ten of Cups, the Heart and the Ring point to closeness built with clearer participation. The people around you gradually come to understand what makes you happy, what you find hard and what is precious to you. The Three of Pentacles and the Emperor support agreements through which responsibilities are better shared.
The Stork and the House may show up as a change of home, a renewal of your space or a shift in the family rhythm. Jera and the Anchor show stability built up over time. After the initial uncertainty you begin to feel that the new life suits you more and more.
Tarot: Ace of Swords, Queen of Swords, Temperance, The Hierophant, Eight of Wands. Runes: Algiz, Dagaz, Ehwaz, Ansuz, Berkana. Lenormand: Book, Key, Sun, Garden, Bouquet.
Take the clarity with which this version of you speaks about the important things. The Ace of Swords and the Queen of Swords help you name your desire in words that can be understood. Instead of a long explanation you can say what you are considering and why it matters to you.
The Hierophant and the Book add the knowledge you need. If the change affects work, home or a shared life, look into the conditions and the consequences. Temperance supports a transition with time for preparation and adjustment.
The Eight of Wands and Ansuz point to communication that can quickly yield a next step. The Garden and the Bouquet also show the possibility of receiving support from someone you have not yet told about your intention. The conversation may turn out to be more useful than you expected.
How do I live when I admit what I still want and what I have already outgrown?
Tarot: Six of Cups, The High Priestess, Four of Swords, Eight of Cups, The World. Runes: Isa, Perthro, Laguz, Berkana, Algiz. Lenormand: Coffin, Book, House, Broom, Paths.
In this reality you have looked at your old plan and admitted that part of it is now foreign to you. The Six of Cups and the World show a completed period you can feel love for, without trying to restore it down to the last detail.
The Eight of Cups and the High Priestess point to the quiet understanding that a certain goal has lost its meaning. You may have wanted recognition from a particular person, a life in a particular place or a relationship you would choose differently today. The Four of Swords gives you the space to hear your present answer.
The Book shows the knowledge you have kept, and the Paths — the possibility of using it in another direction. Berkana and Laguz support a new interest that is still taking shape. This version of you has freed up time and strength by accepting the change in your own desires.
Tarot: Queen of Cups, The Moon, The Magician, The Empress, Nine of Pentacles. Runes: Sowilo, Ansuz, Kenaz, Jera, Eiwaz. Lenormand: Stars, Heart, Stork, Key, Letter.
You have a knack for noticing what would make an experience more human, more beautiful and closer to the people taking part in it. The Queen of Cups and the Moon show a sensitivity to mood and detail. The Empress and the Magician add the ability to turn an impression into a concrete idea.
This may show itself in writing, creating images, setting up a space, organising gatherings or work in which your personal touch can be recognised. The Nine of Pentacles and Jera point to a skill developed gradually, even if you have taken it for an ordinary part of yourself.
The Letter and the Key support presenting the idea clearly, and the Stork — a new application for it. In the room “Gifts” you can ask: “Which quality of mine connects the experience I have gathered with what I want to create today?”
Tarot: The Hermit, The Wheel of Fortune, Queen of Swords, Six of Swords, The Lovers. Runes: Dagaz, Mannaz, Raido, Othala, Tiwaz. Lenormand: Bear, Scythe, Book, Clouds, Anchor.
You are drawn by the feeling of inner agreement. You wake up and you know why you want to give your time to a particular activity or person. The Hermit and the Queen of Swords show a clearer sense of your own needs, and the Lovers — a choice that takes them into account.
The Six of Swords and the Wheel of Fortune point to a change made easier by new circumstances. A commitment may end, time may free up or a chance for a different way of organising things may arise. The Anchor shows the wish to keep the support you need while you get to know the new.
The person you meet in this reality is less busy explaining why their life looks the way it does. They recognise their own decisions in it. This is the very feeling that draws you — seeing your own part in the days you live.
What happens when an old disappointment takes away my trust in myself?
Tarot: Eight of Swords, Five of Cups, The Hanged Man, Ten of Swords, Four of Pentacles. Runes: Nauthiz, Isa, Hagalaz, Thurisaz, Eiwaz. Lenormand: Mountain, Coffin, Mice, Scythe, Clouds.
When a new opportunity appears, you first remember the previous failure. The Five of Cups and the Ten of Swords point to an experience you put a lot into and came away from with a heavy disappointment. It may be a shared plan, a relationship that ended or a venture whose consequences you still feel.
The Eight of Swords and the Hanged Man show how what you went through has turned into a general conclusion about your own judgement. You used to believe you could try, and now you look for confirmation from someone else even for decisions you know well.
The Four of Pentacles and the Mice reveal the tension between the wish to protect yourself and the weariness of constant doubt. Eiwaz allows for a gradual return of trust through small decisions whose consequences you can observe. This version of you needs a new experience that will widen its sense of what is possible.
Tarot: Three of Swords, Five of Swords, Seven of Swords, The Lovers, Queen of Cups. Runes: Tiwaz, Kenaz, Perthro, Mannaz, Laguz. Lenormand: Broom, Snake, Letter, House.
What remains is the disappointment that the two of you understood the shared promise differently. The Lovers and the Queen of Cups show personal devotion, while the Three of Swords, the Five of Swords and the Seven of Swords point to a painful mismatch, information kept silent or behaviour you experienced as dishonest.
The hardest memory may be linked to the moment you realised how alone you had been left with the consequences. The House adds the importance of lost security. The Broom and the Letter show a conversation that still goes on in your thoughts — with more exact words, with questions, with the hope of finally being understood.
Tiwaz and Kenaz support getting the facts clear, and Laguz and Mannaz — acknowledging the feelings. It helps to tell apart exactly what you have lost: the person, the shared future, trust, or the feeling that you can rely on your own judgement. Each of these losses deserves its own attention.
Tarot: Death, The Star, The Sun, Six of Swords, Ace of Wands. Runes: Raido, Dagaz, Ansuz, Algiz, Berkana. Lenormand: Key, Ring, Heart, Stork, Book.
Begin with a fairer account of what happened. The Book and Ansuz support describing the facts, the decisions and the circumstances you had to work with at the time. Part of what you see clearly today probably became known only later.
Death and the Six of Swords point to ending an old way of judging yourself. The Star and the Ace of Wands add the chance to test your abilities again in a different setting. A small venture, a new connection or a finished task can gradually give you back your confidence.
The Ring and the Heart support a commitment with a personal desire in it, and Algiz reminds you to settle the terms in advance. In the room “Letting Go” you can ask: “Which conclusion from an old failure still shapes the way I treat myself, and how can I reconsider it?”
What do my present decisions show?
Tarot: The Wheel of Fortune, The Empress, Nine of Cups, Six of Pentacles, Queen of Wands. Runes: Gebo, Jera, Mannaz, Fehu, Wunjo. Lenormand: Paths, Heart, Ring, House, Garden.
Your present path supports a more visible presence. The Empress and the Queen of Wands show a wish to offer an idea, to create something to your own taste or to take part more freely in conversation. The Nine of Cups adds the satisfaction you feel when what you have chosen truly pleases you.
The Six of Pentacles and Gebo point to reciprocity. This may show itself in a friendship, a love relationship or work. You notice who shows interest, who remembers the things that matter to you and where the effort is shared.
The Garden and the Ring support a contact that can deepen through regular conversation or a shared activity. The House connects this development with your everyday life, and Fehu — with the value of your time and resources. The Wheel of Fortune allows for a new opportunity, which you will recognise by your wish to take part.
Tarot: The Devil, Five of Pentacles, Seven of Swords, Four of Cups, The High Priestess. Runes: Hagalaz, Isa, Laguz, Perthro, Eiwaz. Lenormand: Fox, Coffin, Clouds, Snake, Scythe.
What interferes most strongly is the fear of showing how much you want something. The Five of Pentacles and the Devil point to rejection or neglect you have lived through. The Seven of Swords and the Four of Cups show the defence you built afterwards: you play down your interest so that a possible failure will be easier to bear.
You may like someone yet seem distant. You may want a certain opportunity and yet talk about it as a chance idea. The High Priestess shows how strongly you feel its personal meaning, even when you conceal it.
The Clouds and the Fox invite you to weigh up the real situation. Who is in front of you, what has been offered and what has already been shown through actions? The Scythe supports cutting off the automatic withdrawal. You can state your interest and give yourself time to see how it will be received.
Tarot: Justice, Temperance, The Hierophant, Queen of Swords, Five of Swords. Runes: Tiwaz, Sowilo, Kenaz, Ansuz, Othala. Lenormand: Key, Bouquet, Book, Sun, House.
Rethink the rules by which you understand good treatment. The Hierophant and Othala point to family beliefs you may be following out of habit. You have probably learned that you must go along with others, avoid awkward conversations or prove love through constant giving.
Justice and the Queen of Swords support clearer agreements, and Temperance — expressing them with measure. The Five of Swords invites you to recognise the kind of communication in which every difference turns into a contest. Conversations like these call for boundaries and for judging how much participation is useful.
The Key and the Book show an awareness of your own rules. The Bouquet and the Sun support the possibility that clarity will be well received. In the room “The Lineage” you can ask: “Which family belief makes me neglect my desires in order to keep good relations?”
What happens when I connect my desires with the experience I have gathered?
Tarot: The Magician, The Star, The World, Justice, The Emperor. Runes: Dagaz, Mannaz, Ansuz, Othala, Sowilo. Lenormand: Key, Sun, Ring, House, Book.
The person in the photograph had a courage you lack today. You have an experience they were yet to gather. The World and Mannaz point to bringing these different sides of your story together. Each can contribute to the present choice.
The Magician shows the abilities you have, the Emperor — organisation, and the Star — the desire that still inspires you. Justice helps you judge what suits your life today and what belongs to a period that has ended.
The message of this meeting is: “Take with you what still brings you to life.” The Book and the Key point to a new understanding of an old interest. You may find that beneath the particular plan of long ago lay a deeper need — freedom, closeness, creativity or adventure — which still matters today.
Tarot: The Empress, Ace of Pentacles, The Sun, Temperance, Queen of Pentacles. Runes: Fehu, Berkana, Raido, Ehwaz, Jera. Lenormand: Garden, Anchor, Heart, Stork, Bouquet.
A new form of something you have long loved may be born. The Empress and the Ace of Pentacles point to a beginning with a concrete use. It may be a personal venture, a renewed home, a creative pursuit or a joint plan with someone who shares an interest of yours.
The Queen of Pentacles and Temperance add attention to time, means and the rhythm required. The Anchor and Jera support gradual development. You will have the chance to observe what works well and what needs changing.
The Garden and the Bouquet point to an invitation, good feedback or a new acquaintance. The Heart and the Sun show the personal pleasure you take in participating. In this reality desire is already present in the ordinary day — in something you do, in a meeting you look forward to, or in a place you come home to with joy.
Tarot: The Hierophant, The Lovers, Queen of Cups, The Sun, The Emperor. Runes: Othala, Algiz, Ansuz, Tiwaz, Mannaz. Lenormand: Tree, Sun, Scythe, Key, Letter.
Your direction is to combine knowledge, human warmth and responsibility in what you create. The Hierophant and Ansuz support passing on experience, and the Emperor — the ability to organise and to take on your share of what is common.
The Queen of Cups and the Lovers put closeness at the centre of personal choice. You can create relationships in which feelings are expressed more openly and those involved know what they expect of each other. Algiz reminds you of the boundaries thanks to which caring stays within your strength.
The Tree and Othala connect this direction with the example you leave. Those close to you can see how a person changes a plan, starts again, admits a desire and treats themselves with respect. The Letter and the Key support the words through which you share what you have learned and help it reach another person.
The photograph is still on the table. You take a sheet of paper and begin writing out the old plan, but after a few lines you stop. Some of the details already seem foreign to you. Others wake the same pleasant impatience you remember.
You cross out what you have outgrown and leave the desire you still recognise as your own. Perhaps you once dreamed of a life far away, and today you want more freedom in your everyday life. Perhaps you were looking for recognition, and now you are drawn to an activity in which you can create with pleasure. Or you imagined love in a certain way, and today you know how precious attention and consistency are.
Finally you write down one first step. It belongs to your present life and takes into account the person you have become.
The third portal brings you back to the right to reconsider your desires. You can keep what still excites you, thank what has ended and begin something you were not ready for before.
I wish you to recognise your next joy and to give it a place among the important things. To be wanted in your relationships, valued for what you contribute and open enough with yourself to choose a life you truly like.
Variant 4
You come home after a long day and leave your keys by the door. The phone lights up before you’ve even taken off your jacket. You read the message, start replying and suddenly notice how tired you are.
There is still light coming into the kitchen. You pour water for tea and sit down by the window. In the glass you see your reflection, but for a moment the picture looks different. The person opposite looks like you, only their movements are slower. They put the phone down, take a sip from their cup and smile at someone coming into the room.
You imagine what their evening looks like. Perhaps they have had just as much work. They probably have tasks waiting for them tomorrow too. What could they have done differently, if now they can sit without that inner tension that any second someone is going to need them?
Just then the kettle clicks and brings you back to your own kitchen. You look at the cup. Tonight you intend to reach your tea while it is still warm — a modest goal with surprisingly serious opponents.
The fourth portal brings you face to face with six possible continuations of this evening. In one you are constantly watching other people’s reactions. In another you have changed an important agreement and can already feel the consequences. You will meet the person still waiting for care from an old story, and the one who has begun to allow more mutuality into their life.
Running through all these meetings is the question: in front of whom can you show both your tiredness and your joy without preparing as if for an exam?
How do I live when I am constantly watching other people’s reactions?
Tarot: Eight of Swords, The High Priestess, Four of Pentacles, Two of Swords, Knight of Cups, Nine of Wands, The Tower, The Moon, Page of Pentacles, Three of Cups. Runes: Nauthiz, Isa, Thurisaz, Kenaz, Eihwaz. Lenormand: Clouds, Fox, Cross, Letter, Snake.
You meet this version of yourself at dinner with people close to you. They chat warmly, notice who has gone quiet and immediately find a way to bring the good mood back. The Knight of Cups and the Three of Cups show the person everyone knows as a considerate and pleasant companion. Only you notice how they glance at one particular face before voicing their own opinion.
The High Priestess, the Moon and the Nine of Wands point to a strong sensitivity to other people’s reactions. The Two of Swords and the Eight of Swords add the hesitation over whether it is safe to say what you really think. Gradually you begin to choose both your topics and your wishes according to the mood of those around you.
The Four of Pentacles and Isa show the effort to keep everything predictable. The Tower reveals the tension building up under this apparent order. The Clouds and the Letter point to an unresolved conversation. In this reality fear makes you prepare for conflict even when nobody has objected yet.
Tarot: Page of Cups, The Lovers, The Fool, Ten of Cups, Ace of Wands, The Star, Nine of Cups, The Empress, The Wheel of Fortune, Six of Wands. Runes: Berkana, Fehu, Ansuz, Dagaz, Perthro. Lenormand: Heart, Child, Stork, Sun.
You have left your immediate reaction in the background. The Page of Cups and the Child recall the person who shows they are delighted, eagerly suggests meeting up and laughs before checking whether the joke will be understood correctly.
The Lovers and the Ten of Cups reveal a longing for closeness in which you can be natural. The Empress and the Nine of Cups add the pleasure of ordinary experiences — dinner, music, attraction, a beautiful object chosen to your own taste. The Ace of Wands shows an impulse you have often cut short with the question of whether the moment is right.
The Star and the Fool keep alive your readiness to try again. The Stork and Dagaz point to a change that can begin with a small personal choice. This version of you would be glad to see you suggest something you yourself want to experience and leave the others free to respond.
Tarot: The Devil, Seven of Swords, Five of Pentacles, Five of Cups, The Hermit, The Hanged Man, The World, The Magician, Queen of Wands, Ace of Swords. Runes: Mannaz, Laguz, Raido, Ehwaz, Sowilo. Lenormand: Key, Scythe, Book, Letter, Tower.
After dinner the two of you are left alone and the person with your face admits: “I am so careful about how I will be received that in the end I say almost nothing personal.” The Devil, the Seven of Swords and the Hanged Man show a habit that has become too restricting. The Hermit and the Tower in the Lenormand add the loneliness behind the polite participation.
The Five of Cups and the Five of Pentacles point to the feeling that you remain a stranger to people you spend a lot of time with. The Magician, the Queen of Wands and the Ace of Swords support the possibility of changing this through a clearer presence.
The message is to begin with one truth you can say out loud now. What do you want, what do you find difficult, or what change are you considering? The Letter and the Key point to a conversation after which you will know more about your relationships. The other person’s answer will show you whether those relationships have room for your real feelings too.
What happens when I change an important agreement?
Tarot: The Sun, The Chariot, Queen of Pentacles, Ace of Cups, Knight of Wands, Justice, The Emperor, Nine of Pentacles, The Hierophant, Ten of Wands. Runes: Tiwaz, Sowilo, Gebo, Othala, Uruz. Lenormand: House, Clover, Book, Anchor, Garden.
In this reality you have already had the conversation you keep putting off. You have said that the way things have been divided so far has to change. It may be about work, a shared home or a relationship in which too many decisions have been left to you. The Emperor and Justice show clear terms, and the Chariot — the readiness to apply them.
At first there is awkwardness. Someone is surprised, someone else asks why you are only saying this now. The Queen of Pentacles and the Nine of Pentacles show how you gradually begin to feel the benefit of the decision. You have more time, and what you have taken on is now closer to what you can really do.
The Ace of Cups and the Sun add a liberated desire for closeness. When you stop taking part with built-up irritation, it becomes easier to show your warmth too. Gebo supports the people who respond with real participation. These are exactly the ones you begin to recognise more clearly.
Tarot: The Wheel of Fortune, The High Priestess, Eight of Pentacles, The Star, The Magician, Three of Wands, Six of Pentacles, The Empress, The Lovers, Six of Swords. Runes: Wunjo, Perthro, Eihwaz, Ansuz, Jera. Lenormand: Stars, Key, Ring, Ship, Bear.
You meet your courageous version shortly before a trip. They check the plan for a meeting, pack the last item into the luggage and tell you how they managed to free up these days. The Three of Wands and the Ship point to a trip or a widening of your circle, and the Ring and the Six of Pentacles — to help agreed in advance.
The Eight of Pentacles, the Magician and Jera show the effort behind the change. A collaborator may have been found, duties redistributed or a different way of working introduced. The Empress adds room for personal taste, creativity and pleasure.
The Lovers and the High Priestess point to a choice that meets your real needs. The Star and Wunjo show hope backed by what you have lived through. This version has created the chance to look forward to good things and take part in them attentively, instead of staying in their mind with what is unfinished.
Tarot: Strength, Ace of Wands, Two of Pentacles, Ten of Cups, Judgement, Eight of Wands, Page of Wands, The High Priestess, Knight of Swords, Six of Pentacles. Runes: Raido, Fehu, Sowilo, Algiz, Ehwaz. Lenormand: Key, Sun, Stork, Letter, Lilies.
You can take on the habit of discussing how what you want will actually be made real. The Ace of Wands and the Page of Wands give the excitement of a new idea, and the Two of Pentacles raises the practical questions. Who will take part? How much time is needed? Which of your existing tasks has to be taken on in a different way?
Strength and the High Priestess support paying attention to your own reactions. The Knight of Swords reminds you to leave room for judgement, especially when you receive a fast and insistent offer. The Eight of Wands and the Letter point to communication that can give you a concrete next step.
The Ten of Cups and the Lilies add the importance of a good everyday life. In the room “The Crossroads” you can ask: “How can I bring about the change I want, taking my time, my strength and my close relationships into account in advance?”
What is set free when I accept the end of what has run its course?
Tarot: Death, Eight of Cups, The Fool, Ten of Swords, Five of Cups, Seven of Pentacles, Six of Swords, The Tower, Two of Swords, The Hanged Man. Runes: Nauthiz, Isa, Hagalaz, Kenaz, Dagaz. Lenormand: Scythe, Cross, Mountain, Coffin, Child.
In this reality you have given up trying to restore something to its former state. The Seven of Pentacles and the Hanged Man show a long investment of time, and the Two of Swords — the hesitation in the face of the decision. Death, the Tower and the Coffin point to a stage after which relationships or circumstances are different.
The Five of Cups and the Ten of Swords give disappointment its place. The Eight of Cups and the Six of Swords show the gradual drawing away as you begin to accept what has happened. It may be a relationship coming to an end, an expectation of a person or a venture you were deeply attached to.
After the ending a free space appears, and at first it seems strange. The Fool and the Child show how curiosity gradually arises in it. You begin to ask yourself what you would like to do if the time that has been freed is now yours.
Tarot: The Star, The High Priestess, Six of Cups, Queen of Wands, The Emperor, Ace of Swords, The Magician, Three of Cups, Nine of Pentacles, Justice. Runes: Ansuz, Gebo, Sowilo, Ehwaz, Mannaz. Lenormand: Book, Letter, Sun, Heart, Stars.
You know how to create clarity without losing the human touch. The High Priestess and the Six of Cups show sensitivity to personal history, and the Ace of Swords and Justice — the ability to ask precise questions and separate out what matters.
The Magician and the Emperor add an organising skill. You can turn an idea into understandable steps, explain a complex subject or gather people around a shared activity. The Queen of Wands and the Three of Cups support a presence that encourages others to take part.
The Book, the Letter and Ansuz point to writing, teaching, presenting knowledge or sharing experience. The Nine of Pentacles shows the value of what you have accumulated. In the room “Gifts” you can ask: “How can I develop my ability to explain, organise and support, while keeping room for my own growth too?”
Tarot: The Lovers, Judgement, The Wheel of Fortune, Page of Cups, Three of Pentacles, Nine of Cups, The Hermit, Queen of Swords, Four of Wands, Six of Wands. Runes: Raido, Perthro, Laguz, Berkano, Fehu. Lenormand: Key, Ring, Bear, Stork, Tree.
You are drawn to the person you are in this environment. You meet people, talk, and then come home with a pleasant feeling. The Page of Cups and the Nine of Cups show the spontaneous joy, and the Three of Pentacles and the Four of Wands — company where your participation is wanted.
The Hermit and the Queen of Swords add a space of your own. You can turn down an invitation, voice a different opinion or say that today you need time alone. The relationships go on developing, because there is respect for these differences.
The Ring and the Tree support a gradual deepening of the bond. The Stork and the Wheel of Fortune allow for a meeting through a change of surroundings, a shared project or a new activity. What draws you most strongly is the feeling that your presence has value even when you are simply sharing the evening.
How do I live when I am still waiting for care from someone who has not given it?
Tarot: Nine of Swords, Five of Cups, The Hanged Man, Four of Swords, Ten of Pentacles, The Hermit, Seven of Cups, Two of Pentacles, The Moon, Three of Swords. Runes: Isa, Nauthiz, Thurisaz, Eihwaz, Hagalaz. Lenormand: Coffin, Clouds, Letter, Paths, Tower.
This version of you is still expecting a certain person to understand what you have lived through. It may be someone close, a partner or a person you helped for a long time. The Five of Cups and the Three of Swords show the disappointment, and the Hanged Man — the prolonged waiting for a different reaction.
The Ten of Pentacles and the Two of Pentacles point to an everyday life that carries on as before. On the outside you do the usual things, while the Nine of Swords and the Moon show the questions inside: whether you expected too much, whether you explained clearly enough and why your need went unnoticed.
The Hermit and the Tower in the Lenormand add a drawing away from other people as well. You begin to assume that the same treatment will be repeated. The Letter and the Paths leave open the possibility of a different contact, through which you gradually discover that support can come from elsewhere too.
Tarot: Knight of Swords, The Empress, Eight of Swords, Seven of Swords, Judgement, Ten of Wands, Queen of Cups, Five of Pentacles, The Magician, Six of Swords. Runes: Perthro, Mannaz, Kenaz, Laguz, Berkano. Lenormand: Mice, Heart, Stars, Scythe, Book.
What has remained is the simple wish for someone to notice that you have needs too. The Empress and the Queen of Cups show care given, and the Ten of Wands and the Five of Pentacles — the painful sense that when the roles changed, you were left alone.
You may remember a very specific event: a hard day, an important conversation or a request that was put off and forgotten. The Knight of Swords, the Eight of Swords and the Seven of Swords point to the words you stopped yourself saying. You probably covered up your disappointment to protect the relationship or your dignity.
The Mice and the Book show how what you lived through goes on draining your strength. The Heart, the Stars and Laguz give room to the sadness over the closeness you had hoped for. The most important admission is what exactly you were missing — attention, presence, protection or help at a particular moment.
Tarot: The Sun, Page of Swords, The Chariot, Death, Queen of Pentacles, Nine of Pentacles, Eight of Pentacles, The High Priestess, Six of Wands, Knight of Cups. Runes: Sowilo, Raido, Ehwaz, Dagaz, Gebo. Lenormand: Key, Ring, Tree, Clover, House.
The Page of Swords and the High Priestess encourage you to look at how this person really takes part in your relationship. How do they react when you state a need? What do they promise, and what do they do afterwards? Death and the Chariot show a change in your own decisions according to the answers you get.
The Queen of Pentacles, the Nine of Pentacles and the Eight of Pentacles support rebuilding your personal foundation. You can look for practical help, change an agreement or set aside time for an activity that gives you back your confidence.
The Knight of Cups, the Ring and Gebo leave room for a more mutual bond. The Clover and the Sun point to a pleasant experience that widens what you expect from people. In the room “Letting Go” you can ask: “From whom am I still expecting care that goes on being absent, and how can I change my own part in this relationship?”
What do I begin to recognise through my present decisions?
Tarot: Queen of Wands, The Wheel of Fortune, The Lovers, Seven of Pentacles, Two of Wands, Ace of Cups, Five of Swords, King of Pentacles, Ten of Cups, Temperance. Runes: Jera, Mannaz, Ansuz, Algiz, Wunjo. Lenormand: Ship, Cross, Key, Bouquet, Letter.
Your present path puts you in front of an opportunity that has both personal and practical significance. The Letter and the Bouquet may point to an invitation or an offer, and the Ship — to a trip, a contact from afar or a different environment.
The Two of Wands and the Seven of Pentacles show the next step being thought over. The King of Pentacles and Temperance add the question of how your choice will fit into your life. The Cross is a reminder of an existing commitment that has to be clarified.
The Ace of Cups and the Ten of Cups bring hope of a pleasant development on the personal side. The Five of Swords invites you to watch how differences get discussed. The Key is in the conversation: through it you can find out whether the other side is looking for a solution together with you.
Tarot: The Moon, Five of Wands, Queen of Swords, The Hermit, The Emperor, Eight of Swords, Justice, Four of Cups, Death, Two of Pentacles. Runes: Eihwaz, Nauthiz, Perthro, Othala, Thurisaz. Lenormand: Mountain, Book, Bridge, Sun, Snake.
What steps in most strongly is the old readiness to argue. The Five of Wands, the Emperor and the Eight of Swords show an experience in which your differing wish met with pressure or a strict rule. So you may begin defending yourself before you have even heard the present answer.
The Moon and the Hermit add long advance deliberation. The Queen of Swords and Justice support checking the actual situation. Who is facing you now? How do they react to a clarifying question? Do they leave room for your position too?
The Mountain and the Book point to a difficulty that requires information. The Bridge symbolically shows the possibility of finding a link between the different points of view, and the Sun — of clearing up what is in dispute. You may discover that the conversation you fear allows for a better outcome than the familiar one.
Tarot: The World, The Fool, The Empress, Seven of Swords, Nine of Pentacles, Knight of Wands, Three of Pentacles, Page of Cups, Judgement, The Chariot. Runes: Fehu, Dagaz, Sowilo, Berkano, Raido. Lenormand: Ring, Child, Fox, Garden, Heart.
Rethink how you begin new relationships and shared ventures. The Nine of Pentacles shows independence, and the Three of Pentacles — the need to get to know the other person’s way of taking part. If you take everything on straight away, it will be hard to find out what the other person would offer of their own accord.
The Fool, the Page of Cups and the Child support curiosity. You can ask questions, accept small gestures and let the connection develop gradually. The Empress adds care that has the chance to be shared.
The Seven of Swords and the Fox invite you to check unclear terms. The Ring and the Heart point to an agreement with personal desire and mutual participation. The new beginning will be different when there is room for receiving too, right from the first steps.
How do I recognise the life in which I can be more open?
Tarot: The Hierophant, Ten of Cups, Page of Pentacles, Strength, Ten of Swords, The Chariot, The Star, The Hermit, Page of Swords, Eight of Wands. Runes: Mannaz, Ansuz, Gebo, Kenaz, Sowilo. Lenormand: Key, Stars, House, Anchor, Letter.
Once again you see the person from the reflection. This time you can hear their conversation too. They say the day has been heavy, and the person beside them asks a simple question: “What will help you tonight?” The answer comes without hesitation, because words like these have already been met with attention.
The Ten of Cups, the House and the Anchor show closeness with support. Strength and Mannaz point to accepting your own human limits. The Ten of Swords and the Star bring together the experience of disappointment with the possibility of a different continuation.
The message of these versions is to use what you have learned when you choose whom you let close. The Page of Swords and the Page of Pentacles support getting to know someone through questions and small actions. The Letter and Ansuz encourage you to say what you need and see how it is received.
Tarot: The Empress, The Magician, Two of Cups, The Wheel of Fortune, King of Swords, Eight of Pentacles, The Sun, The Hanged Man, The World, Knight of Cups. Runes: Ingwaz, Berkano, Othala, Wunjo, Raido. Lenormand: Stork, Ring, Book, Tower, Sun.
A relationship may develop in which warmth and clear words support each other. The Two of Cups and the Knight of Cups give attraction and the wish to share, and the King of Swords — the chance to discuss the important details openly.
The Empress, the Magician and the Eight of Pentacles show creating something together. It may be a home, a project or a way of life that you gradually shape to suit your needs. The Hanged Man adds the willingness to change your approach when something needs more time.
The Book and the Ring support getting to know each other before a bigger commitment. The Tower in the Lenormand leaves personal space, and the Sun and Wunjo — the pleasure of coming back to what you share. You will recognise a good development by its consistency: after the lovely conversation comes a gesture that confirms it.
Tarot: Justice, The High Priestess, Three of Wands, The Emperor, Knight of Pentacles, The Fool, Death, Nine of Cups, Five of Wands, Six of Swords. Runes: Dagaz, Thurisaz, Eihwaz, Fehu, Laguz. Lenormand: Cross, Snake, Heart, Tree, Scythe.
Your direction is to build a life in which responsibility leaves room for feelings, pleasure and growth. Justice and the Emperor support clear rules, and the High Priestess and Laguz — attention to your inner answer.
The Knight of Pentacles and the Tree show the small actions that gradually change everyday life. The Three of Wands and the Fool keep your curiosity about the new alive. Death and the Six of Swords support finishing what has already run its course, and the Five of Wands is a reminder that differences will go on calling for choices.
The Heart and the Nine of Cups place personal satisfaction among the important guides. Through the way you live you can show those close to you how a commitment is taken on, how help is accepted and how to say in good time that something needs to change. This example gradually creates a different closeness for them too.
The tea is ready now. You look at your phone and choose someone you want to call. You have put this off for a long time, because you thought you first had to feel better and have something pleasant to tell.
When you hear their voice, you tell them how your day went. At the other end they listen. After a few minutes the conversation comes round naturally to a suggestion that you meet. You agree on a day, and for the first time this evening you feel a wish for something still to come.
The fourth portal points you towards meetings and relationships like this. You will recognise them by the way a person responds to how you really are. They give you time to finish your thought, remember what was said and take part through actions. After being with them you can feel more clarity, warmth and freedom to be yourself.
Your choice also begins with the willingness to show how you are. Gradually you will come to understand with whom you can share more and which agreements deserve to change. In this way the life from the reflection gets a very concrete beginning in your own evening.
I wish you closeness in which you can show both your joy and your tiredness. People who are interested in your answer when they ask how you are, and a home where your presence is loved. May you have more and more evenings you come home to gladly.
Variant 5
You have set off along your usual route when the street turns out to be closed. You turn down the next one and notice a small bookshop with its door wide open. Two people are chatting in front of it, there’s a smell of freshly baked pastry from the café opposite, and in the window lies a book whose title makes you stop.
You go in just for a minute, or so you tell yourself. The person behind the counter asks what you like to read, and soon the conversation reaches places where you have wanted to live and pastimes you keep putting off finding time for. They mention that on Saturday they are organising a get-together with people who talk about their new beginnings.
“You can come. There’s no need to have a story prepared.”
That last part definitely helps. Because your story of a new beginning has, so far, an excellent introduction and quite a long preparation period.
While you look through the book, you see your reflection in the glass. For a moment you picture another possible life: you know this street, you greet the people on it and you have a reason to come back. What might you have done differently to feel part of it?
The fifth portal brings you face to face with a change of surroundings — through work, a home, travel or a new circle of people. Alongside the outward change, you will also look at your own part in it. What would you like to take with you? Which habits may follow you and create the familiar dissatisfaction? How do you begin to build belonging while you are still new?
How do I live when security turns into a reason to keep putting things off?
Tarot: Five of Swords, Eight of Pentacles, Two of Wands, Nine of Swords, King of Pentacles. Runes: Nauthiz, Isa, Thurisaz, Hagalaz, Othala. Lenormand: Tower, Mountain, Cross, Fox, Book.
In this reality you know your daily life down to the last detail. You know how to cope, who to turn to and what you can expect. The Eight of Pentacles and the King of Pentacles show support you have really achieved. It has value and explains why the decision to change deserves attention.
The Two of Wands, however, points to a gaze that more and more often goes beyond the familiar. You look at other possibilities, and the Nine of Swords quickly adds all the questions about income, adapting and the future. In the end you close the page, thinking that you will come back to it when everything becomes clear.
The Five of Swords and the Fox show the price of staying in surroundings you constantly adapt to. The Mountain and Isa reinforce the stagnation. Fear in this reality is connected with leaving: you may lose the familiar before you have built new support. That is why the first useful step is to find out what kind of transition would really be within your strength.
Tarot: Ace of Cups, Knight of Wands, Seven of Cups, Three of Cups, The Star. Runes: Wunjo, Gebo, Laguz, Ehwaz, Sowilo. Lenormand: Heart, Child, Birds, Garden, Stars.
You have left in the background your curiosity about people and experiences you do not yet know. The Knight of Wands and the Child remind you of the pleasure of setting off for a place you have heard about, or of accepting an invitation without knowing every detail in advance.
The Three of Cups and the Garden show the friendships that can start from a shared interest. The Ace of Cups and the Heart add the emotional thrill — a conversation after which you want to see the person again, or a pastime you think about with a smile.
The Seven of Cups and the Birds point to the many possible stories you create in your head. Laguz invites you to recognise your true feeling beneath them. The Star keeps a desire that goes on attracting you. This version of you needs to experience something new in order to find out which of the imagined things really suits it.
Tarot: The Chariot, The Magician, Six of Wands, Eight of Cups, The Devil. Runes: Tiwaz, Raidho, Kenaz, Perthro, Algiz. Lenormand: Paths, Key, Ship, Whip, Ring.
You meet this version of yourself in front of a map lying open on the table. It knows a lot about the place it wants, but has not yet spoken to anyone who lives there. “I’ve been turning it over for so long that I’ve started taking my assumptions for experience” — it admits.
The Chariot and the Magician show an ability to organise the next step. The Eight of Cups and the Devil raise the question of what ties you to your present surroundings. The Whip points to the recurring inner argument that now rarely gives you any new information.
The Paths, the Ship and the Key support getting to know something through action: a visit, a conversation, an application or an agreed meeting. In the room “The Crossroads” you can ask: “Which change of surroundings deserves getting to know up close, and what support do I need for the first step?”
What do I experience when I start to take part in the new surroundings?
Tarot: The Fool, Ten of Wands, Queen of Cups, Eight of Wands, Justice. Runes: Uruz, Ansuz, Jera, Eiwaz, Berkano. Lenormand: Ship, Tree, Letter, Sun, Woman.
In this reality you have already made the change and are getting to know its first ordinary days. You still go the wrong way, ask questions and go back for something you forgot. The Fool shows the beginning, and the Ten of Wands — the effort of taking in many new details in a short time.
The Eight of Wands and the Letter point to messages, documents and agreements. Justice underlines the need to understand the conditions you accept. The Ship may show up as a change of home, as travel or as work with people far away.
The Queen of Cups and the Woman in Lenormand allow for the support of a woman — a colleague, a friend, someone close or a specialist. This time you accept the help and ask when you do not know. The Tree and Jera show gradual settling in. The new surroundings start to feel close to you through the small meetings you choose to join yourself.
Tarot: Nine of Pentacles, The Emperor, Two of Cups, Three of Pentacles, The Sun. Runes: Fehu, Othala, Inguz, Dagaz, Mannaz. Lenormand: House, Heart, Ring, Fish, Garden.
After a while you already have your own rhythm. You know a few places where they greet you by name, and a person you can suggest a walk to. The House and Othala show how your surroundings gradually take on personal meaning. The Nine of Pentacles and the Emperor add organisation and independence.
The Three of Pentacles, the Fish and Fehu point to work in which your skills find a use. The Ring supports a clear agreement with the possibility of continuing. Belonging is also created through your contribution — when you take part, keep a promise and let others get to know the way you work.
The Two of Cups and the Heart open up space for a close relationship. It may begin with a friendship, a shared pastime or personal attraction. The Sun shows the joy of gradually discovering a person with whom even an ordinary evening is pleasant.
Tarot: Ace of Wands, King of Swords, Six of Swords, Nine of Cups, Seven of Pentacles. Runes: Kenaz, Tiwaz, Raidho, Sowilo, Ehwaz. Lenormand: Key, Paths, Ship, Book, Sun.
Take the way this version of you turns interest into lived experience. The Ace of Wands and Kenaz give the first desire, and the King of Swords and the Book support the precise questions. What does a working day look like? How much does everyday life cost? What opportunities are there for socialising and free time?
The Six of Swords and the Ship point to a transition that can begin with a short visit or a trial period. The Seven of Pentacles adds time for assessment. After the first excitement you will be able to notice what you like and what requires adapting.
The Nine of Cups puts personal satisfaction among the important guides. Picture an ordinary Tuesday after the change — where you wake up, what you do and who you talk to. This picture can give you a much clearer direction for your choice.
How do I live when I also leave space for the unknown?
Tarot: Four of Pentacles, Five of Wands, Knight of Swords, Eight of Cups, The High Priestess. Runes: Laguz, Perthro, Isa, Nauthiz, Eihwaz. Lenormand: Anchor, Cross, Moon, Book, Clouds.
In this reality you have cut down on the attempts to solve every future difficulty in advance. The Four of Pentacles and the Five of Wands show the strain of the constant inner argument. The Knight of Swords adds the hasty conclusions with which you used to end your interest at the first unknown.
The Eight of Cups and the High Priestess point to getting away from this habit. Laguz supports attention to your feelings, and Perthro leaves room for the discoveries that come through taking part.
The Anchor shows the support you can keep during a change — an income, a close relationship, a useful habit or a reserve of time and money. The Book and the Clouds remind you that you will get some of the answers gradually. This version of you has begun to distinguish what it must know in advance and what it can learn along the way.
Tarot: The Magician, Queen of Wands, Seven of Pentacles, The Moon, Ace of Cups. Runes: Ansuz, Kenaz, Berkano, Inguz, Sowilo. Lenormand: Stars, Heart, Child, Garden, Fox.
You know how to create interest around an idea and to find people who would join in. The Magician, the Queen of Wands and Ansuz support communication, presentation and your personal touch. You can tell someone about a thing in such a way that they picture it clearly.
The Moon and the Ace of Cups add imagination and a feel for emotion. This potential can show itself through a text, an image, a service, a meeting or an experience. The Seven of Pentacles points to the improvements that come when you observe the response.
The Garden and the Stars support sharing with a wider circle of people, including online. The Fox adds a practical view of how you work. In the room “Gifts” you can ask: “How can I connect communication, imagination and my practical sense in a pursuit I want to develop?”
Tarot: The Lovers, The Wheel of Fortune, Knight of Cups, Nine of Swords, The Tower. Runes: Gebo, Wunjo, Thurisaz, Hagalaz, Dagaz. Lenormand: Heart, Paths, Whip, Tower, Scythe.
You are drawn to the version of you that feels excited again. The Lovers and the Knight of Cups show a feeling, an invitation or an idea that awakens the desire to take part. The Wheel of Fortune adds a circumstance through which this desire can get a concrete occasion.
The Nine of Swords and the Whip point to the anxious thoughts after the first impulse. The Tower in the Tarot can mark a sudden realisation of how strongly you long for a different experience. A realisation like this deserves time, so that you can understand what exactly you want to change.
The Heart and Gebo add the need for mutual excitement. You may be drawn to a person with whom you are more open, or to a community where your interests meet a response. This reality shows you qualities that wake up when your surroundings give you a reason to use them.
How do I live when I have already tried and find it hard to believe again?
Tarot: Five of Cups, Eight of Swords, Four of Swords, Ten of Pentacles, Two of Swords. Runes: Nauthiz, Isa, Othala, Hagalaz, Eiwaz. Lenormand: Cross, Tower, House, Clouds, Letter.
This version of you has already set out once with hope. It may have changed jobs, homes or surroundings, or started a relationship or a shared plan. The Five of Cups shows a disappointment after which future possibilities begin to look suspiciously familiar.
The Ten of Pentacles and the House point to the security you are looking for. The Four of Swords and the Tower in Lenormand add a withdrawal through which you try to recover. The Eight of Swords and the Two of Swords show the difficulty of telling the new situation from the previous one.
The Cross and the Clouds point to the weight of the general conclusion: “I tried and I saw how it ended.” The Letter leaves the possibility of new information. In this reality it is important to look concretely at what went wrong, so that you can understand what could be different next time.
Tarot: Three of Swords, King of Cups, Seven of Swords, Page of Cups, The Empress. Runes: Laguz, Gebo, Perthro, Thurisaz, Berkano. Lenormand: Heart, Letter, Fox, Woman, Child.
What remains is the sadness for the future you expected to create with someone. The Three of Swords and the Seven of Swords point to a painful mismatch, information kept quiet or a feeling that an important part of the truth became known too late.
The King of Cups shows the attempt to keep your composure, and the Page of Cups — the hope that still existed beneath it. The Empress, the Woman and the Child allow for a theme of a significant woman, a partnership, a family or a shared beginning. Your personal story determines which meaning applies to you.
The Letter and Laguz support putting what you have been through into words. It may turn out that what you miss most is the feeling that the two of you were in the choice together. Naming this loss will help you understand what kind of participation you expect in your future relationships.
Tarot: Death, Six of Swords, The Sun, Queen of Swords, Ace of Pentacles. Runes: Dagaz, Raidho, Kenaz, Tiwaz, Fehu. Lenormand: Scythe, Ship, Sun, Key, Fish.
The Queen of Swords and the Key support a more precise reckoning. What conditions did you accept back then? What did you know, and what did you learn later? Which signals would you take into account sooner today? The answers can turn disappointment into useful knowledge.
Death and the Scythe point to ending a habit that keeps bringing the story back into the present. The Six of Swords and the Ship add a change of surroundings or of the way you take part. The Ace of Pentacles, the Fish and Fehu support a small, concrete opportunity through which you see your own abilities again.
The Sun shows a gradual return of interest. In the room “Letting Go” you can ask: “Which disappointment keeps determining my expectations, and how can I use what I learned in my next choice?”
What is beginning to take concrete shape?
Tarot: Two of Pentacles, Eight of Wands, King of Pentacles, Page of Swords, Nine of Cups. Runes: Jera, Ehwaz, Mannaz, Fehu, Sowilo. Lenormand: Paths, Ship, Man, Fish, Birds.
Your present path is connected with conversations and comparing possibilities. The Two of Pentacles and the Paths show more than one direction, and the Page of Swords — a desire to learn the details. The Eight of Wands and the Birds point to calls, replies and meetings that can speed up developments.
The King of Pentacles, the Fish and Fehu put income and means among the important topics. You may be discussing work, a joint activity or a change that requires preparation. The Ship adds distance, travel or contact outside your usual circle.
The Man in Lenormand can mean you, or a man with a role in events. The Nine of Cups reminds you to notice how you feel after the information you receive. The right direction must also leave room for the life you want to lead outside your obligations.
Tarot: The Devil, Four of Cups, Nine of Swords, The High Priestess, Five of Pentacles. Runes: Nauthiz, Isa, Thurisaz, Laguz, Hagalaz. Lenormand: Cross, Clouds, Tower, Book, Mice.
The fear of being left without support interferes most strongly. The Devil and the Five of Pentacles point to worry about money, belonging and help in a difficult moment. The Nine of Swords shows how this worry can grow when you try to sort everything out alone.
The Four of Cups and the Tower in Lenormand add withdrawal from the people who could give you useful information. The High Priestess shows the personal meaning of the topic, and the Book and the Clouds — the questions still waiting for an answer.
The Mice point to the exhaustion of thinking it over alone. Part of the change is to choose a suitable person to talk to, to ask a concrete question and to let the actual answer change your judgement. That way you begin to build support even before the bigger step.
Tarot: Justice, Ace of Cups, Knight of Wands, Six of Pentacles, Seven of Swords. Runes: Tiwaz, Kenaz, Gebo, Raidho, Ansuz. Lenormand: Key, Heart, Paths, Garden, Fox.
Rethink how you take part when your desire is strong. The Ace of Cups and the Knight of Wands show excitement, and the Seven of Swords — the temptation to keep quiet about an awkward question in order to keep the nice feeling. Later on, it is precisely what was left unclear that can create difficulty.
Justice and the Six of Pentacles support discussing expectations early. Who is offering what? How will shared decisions be made? What does the promise mean for each of you? Gebo and Ansuz point to mutual understanding created through conversation.
The Fox adds practical judgement, and the Garden — the chance to seek out the experience of suitable people. The new surroundings will also feel different when you yourself ask clearer questions, state your needs and choose your commitments more carefully.
How do I begin to feel I’m in the right place?
Tarot: The World, The Magician, The Sun, Knight of Swords, Ten of Cups. Runes: Sowilo, Dagaz, Tiwaz, Ansuz, Mannaz. Lenormand: Sun, Stars, Key, Paths, Heart.
The person you saw in the shop window is now sitting opposite you. They tell you how, at the start, they went straight home after work and waited for someone to invite them. Then they began to suggest meetings themselves, to visit places they liked and to show interest in people.
The Magician and the Knight of Swords point to this personal participation. The World and Mannaz gather what you have learned into a more mature judgement, and the Ten of Cups and the Heart add the need for closeness and shared experiences.
The message is: “Give the new place a chance to get to know you.” The Stars and the Paths support the direction, and the Key — the concrete choice. Belonging is gradually created through presence, repeated meetings and small promises that people keep to one another.
Tarot: The Emperor, Ace of Pentacles, Two of Cups, Six of Wands, Queen of Pentacles. Runes: Fehu, Othala, Inguz, Berkano, Jera. Lenormand: House, Fish, Ring, Garden, Sun.
A beginning can take shape in which your personal desire meets good conditions and the right people. The Ace of Pentacles and the Emperor point to an opportunity with clear steps. The Fish and the Ring add work, income or an agreement that continues.
The Two of Cups and the Garden support a meaningful acquaintance. It can develop through a shared activity, friendship or attraction. The Queen of Pentacles and the House show how relationships gradually settle into everyday life — a meeting after work, a shared dinner, help with something ordinary.
The Six of Wands and the Sun point to satisfaction with what you have achieved. Jera reminds you of the time this development needs. One day you will notice that you already have your own stories connected with the place, and people with whom you look forward to the next meeting.
Tarot: The Hierophant, The Lovers, Queen of Cups, The Wheel of Fortune, Justice. Runes: Gebo, Laguz, Tiwaz, Raidho, Sowilo. Lenormand: Ring, Heart, Paths, Key.
Your direction is to connect your values with the way you choose and take part. The Hierophant and Justice support honesty with yourself and with the people affected by your decisions. The Lovers and the Queen of Cups give room to feelings, closeness and personal meaning.
The Wheel of Fortune and Raidho show changing circumstances. Your experience can help you recognise when to stay, when to discuss different conditions and when to take another direction.
The Ring and Gebo point to mutual commitments. The Heart and the Key support the choice you recognise as your own. Through your own behaviour you can create links between people, places and ideas, and with time discover that the feeling of home can develop along with you.
You are back in the bookshop. The person behind the counter is putting away a few books, and you glance at the door and then at them.
“What time is the meeting on Saturday?”
You get the answer and write it down. Before you leave, you say you will come. For a moment you wonder whether you will know anyone, then you remember that this is exactly how acquaintances begin.
The change in this portal gains meaning through the way you take part in it. The new town, the work, the home or the company can give you different opportunities. You will get to know them by asking questions, showing interest, keeping agreements and saying what you need.
You can take with you your skills, the people you love and your useful habits. It is worth leaving more room for behaviour you are only now learning: to accept help, to suggest a meeting, to discuss a condition in good time and to give the new thing enough of a try before you judge it.
I wish you surroundings you feel like joining in with, people with whom the interest is mutual, and ordinary days you enjoy. May you find a place where people gradually start to know you, and may you feel the joy when one day someone smiles and says: “I’m glad you came.”
Variant 6
The phone rings while you are looking for something in your bag. You glance at the screen and for a moment you forget what you were looking for. You know the name. Once you would have answered straight away, with that peculiar excitement in which a person manages to picture a whole story before the first “Hello”.
This time you take a breath and accept the call.
“I was thinking about what we talked about. Do you still want it?”
The question is short, and the answer turns out to be more complicated than you expect. There was a time when you knew perfectly clearly what you wanted. Then days went by, other things happened and you changed as well. Now the possibility is in front of you again, and it wakes joy, curiosity and a whole committee of cautious advisers all at once.
It may be about a person with whom a conversation was left unfinished. About an idea that has been waiting for the right conditions. About an offer that came after a long silence. What they have in common is the feeling that life is once again placing something familiar in front of you and waiting for your present answer.
The sixth portal brings you face to face with the different ways of meeting such a moment. You will see what happens when you refuse out of habit, when you agree out of an old longing and when you give yourself time to understand what you want today. Because a possibility that has come true deserves to be known by the person you have become.
How do I live when my answer is ready before I have even heard the offer?
Tarot: Ten of Wands, Four of Pentacles, Eight of Swords, Knight of Pentacles, King of Swords. Runes: Isa, Nauthiz, Othala, Thurisaz, Eiwaz. Lenormand: Tower, Anchor, Cross, Mountain, Fox.
You meet this version of yourself right after such a call. It has answered politely that things are difficult right now, that there are many commitments and that the moment is probably wrong. Then it puts the phone down and looks at it for a long time. The Ten of Wands and the Knight of Pentacles show real responsibilities, and the Four of Pentacles — an effort to keep the familiar order.
The King of Swords finds convincing explanations for the refusal. The Eight of Swords, however, points to an inner limitation: the possibility has been rejected before it was even looked at. Part of you is trying to avoid the excitement, because it knows how much hope can wake up after it.
The Tower, the Anchor and Othala show the strong bond with the settled life. The Mountain and Isa add to the difficulty of allowing a different development. In this reality the most painful part comes later, when you start to ask yourself what you actually turned down and whether the decision was your own wish.
Tarot: Ace of Wands, Six of Cups, Page of Cups, Seven of Wands, The Sun. Runes: Wunjo, Kenaz, Berkano, Sowilo, Gebo. Lenormand: Child, Heart, Garden, Letter, Sun.
You have left in the background your readiness to be pleasantly surprised. The Ace of Wands and the Page of Cups show the first impulse — to smile, to ask a question, to suggest meeting up. The Six of Cups connects this feeling with an experience you still remember tenderly.
The Letter and the Heart can point to renewed contact or words you once wanted to hear. The Garden adds a meeting among people, a shared activity or a reason to feel part of someone’s life again.
The Seven of Wands raises the question of whether you can defend the time for a personal wish. The Sun and Wunjo support the joy that appears when you give it a chance. This version of you still wants to feel excitement, but it has got used to tucking it away too quickly behind a cautious answer.
Tarot: The Tower, Eight of Cups, The Magician, Knight of Wands, Six of Swords. Runes: Thurisaz, Raidho, Tiwaz, Kenaz, Dagaz. Lenormand: Scythe, Ship, Paths, Key, Letter.
“Next time, ask to hear more.” This is how the confession of this version of you begins. The Tower points to a sudden event or realisation that disrupts the usual order. The Letter and the Key show information capable of changing your first judgement.
The Eight of Cups and the Six of Swords support distancing yourself from the habit of ending your interest at the first discomfort. The Magician and the Knight of Wands remind you that you can take an active part: to ask, to suggest a time to talk and to clarify what has changed.
The Scythe and the Paths point to interrupting the automatic reaction. In the room “The Crossroads” you can ask: “Do I still want the possibility that is appearing again, and what is important for me to understand before I answer?”
What do I experience when I give the possibility a chance to show its present face?
Tarot: The Fool, Three of Wands, Eight of Pentacles, Queen of Pentacles, Nine of Cups. Runes: Uruz, Fehu, Jera, Berkano, Inguz. Lenormand: Ship, Fish, Tree, House, Sun.
In this reality you have agreed to a first meeting or a trial step. The Fool shows readiness to begin, and the Three of Wands — interest in what may follow. You go with curiosity and notice the details you would once have missed out of excitement.
The first difficulty comes quite naturally: the plan has to change, an important piece of information is missing, or it turns out that your ideas differ. The Eight of Pentacles and the Queen of Pentacles show your practical response. You talk through what happened and watch whether a solution is being looked for together.
The Ship, the Tree and Jera give the development time. The Nine of Cups and the Sun show the satisfaction when what you live through begins to confirm your wish. The courage of this version lies in its readiness to get to know reality and to judge according to it.
Tarot: The Emperor, Two of Cups, Ace of Pentacles, Six of Wands, Three of Cups. Runes: Othala, Gebo, Sowilo, Mannaz, Dagaz. Lenormand: Ring, Heart, House, Garden, Sun.
It has created a new story with more clarity from the very beginning. The Emperor and the Ace of Pentacles show a concrete foundation — a meeting agreed, an undertaking begun, a shared plan or a change already taking place.
The Two of Cups, the Heart and the Ring support a meaningful union. On a personal level this may be a growing closeness in which both of you state your intentions. In shared work it may appear as a partnership with a clear division of roles. Gebo highlights the mutual contribution.
The Three of Cups and the Garden add the pleasant surprise: you discover a shared interest, receive support or meet people who enrich the experience. The Six of Wands and the Sun show a reason to rejoice in what has been achieved. This version already has its own answer to the question of why it chose to try.
Tarot: Knight of Swords, Justice, Eight of Wands, Nine of Pentacles, Seven of Pentacles. Runes: Tiwaz, Ansuz, Raidho, Kenaz, Sowilo. Lenormand: Paths, Letter, Key, Ship, Stars.
Take the readiness to answer clearly, without promising more than you already know you want. The Knight of Swords and the Eight of Wands give movement, and Justice supports the precise words. You can show interest and specify what else you want to discuss.
The Nine of Pentacles reminds you of your personal independence. The Seven of Pentacles leaves time to see how the communication or the undertaking develops. The first meeting can be a sufficient next step, without deciding the whole future.
The Letter and the Key point to an answer that opens a conversation. The Ship and the Stars widen the possible direction. The most useful habit of this version of you is to combine open interest with attention to what is really happening.
What do I want today, after everything I have lived through?
Tarot: Five of Pentacles, Seven of Swords, Two of Swords, Eight of Cups, The High Priestess. Runes: Laguz, Perthro, Nauthiz, Isa, Eihwaz. Lenormand: Mice, Fox, Clouds, Book, Moon.
In this reality you have admitted that some old wishes have changed. The High Priestess and the Moon point to listening honestly to what you feel now. You may once have wanted a particular person, place or recognition, and today you may be looking for a different quality of experience.
The Seven of Swords and the Two of Swords show how hard it has been to accept this. Part of you may have kept waiting, because giving up the old wish looked like losing the time you had put into it. The Five of Pentacles adds the sadness over what you had expected.
The Eight of Cups and Eihwaz support the transition to a more accurate picture of yourself. The Book shows what you are still getting to know. This version of you has left behind the obligation to want again, without fail, what it once dreamed of.
Tarot: The Magician, Queen of Cups, The Moon, Nine of Cups, Ace of Wands. Runes: Ansuz, Kenaz, Laguz, Berkano, Sowilo. Lenormand: Stars, Heart, Child, Letter, Sun.
You know how to find a new expression for what you have lived through. The Magician and the Ace of Wands give an idea and initiative, and the Queen of Cups and the Moon — imagination, sensitivity and attention to the human story.
You can turn your experience into a text, an image, a conversation or an activity that helps other people understand their own feelings too. The Nine of Cups shows the personal pleasure of creating. When you like the process, you find your own voice more easily.
The Letter, the Stars and Ansuz support sharing. The Child makes room for a first attempt that can develop. In the room “Gifts” you can ask: “Which part of what I have lived through am I ready to turn into an idea, creative work or a useful occupation?”
Tarot: The Lovers, The Tower, Knight of Cups, Nine of Swords, The Wheel of Fortune. Runes: Gebo, Hagalaz, Thurisaz, Wunjo, Dagaz. Lenormand: Heart, Scythe, Tower, Paths, Key.
You are drawn by the possibility of feeling excited again and of staying connected to yourself. The Lovers and the Knight of Cups show a personal feeling, an invitation or an offer, and the Wheel of Fortune — a change that brings them back to your attention.
The Tower in the Tarot can point to a sudden realisation. You hear the words you wanted and notice that your reaction is already different. You may feel joy mixed with questions, or understand that the waiting was stronger than your present interest. The Nine of Swords shows the anxiety in the face of such a truth.
The Heart and Gebo point to a mutuality that matters today. The Paths and the Key support the freedom to choose according to how you feel now. This reality draws you with the right to change.
How do I live when an old disappointment decides every next answer?
Tarot: Four of Swords, Five of Cups, Eight of Swords, Ten of Wands, King of Cups. Runes: Isa, Nauthiz, Hagalaz, Othala, Eiwaz. Lenormand: Cross, Tower, House, Clouds, Anchor.
This version of you has accepted withdrawal as the most reliable way to protect itself. The King of Cups shows preserved composure, and the Ten of Wands — a daily life in which you go on doing what is necessary. The Five of Cups reveals the sadness you rarely show.
When a new invitation appears, you first remember the previous disappointment. The Eight of Swords and the Four of Swords point to a refusal or postponement through which you avoid the familiar excitement. After a while, however, you may also feel the absence of experiences that truly interest you.
The House and the Anchor show the settled support. The Tower and the Clouds add the distance that makes it hard to get to know new people and circumstances. In this reality every next story receives the verdict of the previous one before it has even begun.
Tarot: Three of Swords, Page of Cups, Seven of Swords, The Empress, Six of Cups. Runes: Laguz, Gebo, Perthro, Berkano, Ansuz. Lenormand: Heart, Letter, Woman, Child, Garden.
What remains is the admission of how much you hoped. The Page of Cups and the Six of Cups show the sincere feeling, and the Three of Swords — the pain after the two of you passed each other by. The Seven of Swords points to words left unspoken or information that has stayed unclear.
The Empress, the Woman and the Child allow for a theme of a significant woman, family, care or an earlier experience. Your personal story determines which meaning you recognise. At the root lies the need for your feeling to be met with attention.
The Letter and Ansuz support expressing what still matters. You may discover that you are more ashamed of your hope than of the ending itself. Laguz and Gebo remind you how human it is to have wished for closeness and to have expected an answer.
Tarot: Death, Six of Swords, Justice, Ace of Pentacles, The Sun. Runes: Dagaz, Raidho, Tiwaz, Kenaz, Fehu. Lenormand: Scythe, Ship, Key, Sun, Fish.
Justice and the Key support a more accurate reckoning. What was promised, what was actually done and what did you understand later? Such clarity can help you separate the facts from the hope you put into them.
Death, the Scythe and the Six of Swords point to ending an old expectation. The Ship adds a change of rhythm or surroundings, and the Ace of Pentacles — a small new beginning. It may be an activity, a meeting or work through which you feel your ability to choose again.
The Sun supports the return of your interest in what lies ahead. In the room “Letting Go” you can ask: “Which old expectation do I keep carrying into new situations, and how can I begin to get to know each of them separately?”
What does the present possibility ask of me?
Tarot: Two of Wands, Eight of Wands, King of Pentacles, Nine of Cups, Page of Swords. Runes: Jera, Mannaz, Fehu, Sowilo, Ehwaz. Lenormand: Paths, Ship, Man, Fish, Birds.
Your present path shows a possibility that deserves a concrete conversation. The Two of Wands and the Paths point to a choice, and the Eight of Wands and the Birds — to messages, phone calls and a development that may speed up.
The Page of Swords supports precise questions. The King of Pentacles, the Fish and Fehu put money, time and organisation among the important details. The Ship adds distance or a change in the usual order. The Man may signify you or a person with a role in events.
The Nine of Cups points to personal satisfaction. Jera invites you to look at what has changed since the first time you considered such a possibility. The present conditions may be more suitable, or your needs may already be different.
Tarot: The Devil, Nine of Swords, Four of Cups, The High Priestess, Five of Pentacles. Runes: Nauthiz, Isa, Thurisaz, Laguz, Hagalaz. Lenormand: Cross, Clouds, Tower, Book, Mice.
What interferes most strongly is the old story about what refusal means. The Devil and the Nine of Swords show the anxiety that if you answer openly, you may feel ignored again. The Five of Pentacles adds the fear of being left without support after taking a risk.
The Four of Cups and the Tower in Lenormand point to a distance through which you reduce your own excitement. The High Priestess shows that the subject matters more to you than you probably admit to others.
The Book and the Clouds support the need to learn more. The Mice remind you how much strength it takes to try to guess everything on your own. The important change is to let the present person or offer show its own behaviour before you make a decision.
Tarot: Justice, Knight of Wands, Ace of Cups, Seven of Swords, Six of Pentacles. Runes: Tiwaz, Kenaz, Gebo, Raidho, Ansuz. Lenormand: Key, Heart, Paths, Garden, Fox.
Rethink the idea that a second chance must necessarily restore the first plan. The Ace of Cups and the Knight of Wands show a new excitement that can take a different form. Justice invites you to look at the present circumstances.
The Seven of Swords and the Fox point to the questions you would prefer to skip. What is different this time? What is the other person offering now? What do you expect? The Six of Pentacles, Gebo and Ansuz support an open discussion of what each of you contributes.
The Heart and the Key put personal meaning at the centre. You can respond to part of what is offered, ask for a different agreement or realise that your wish has already changed. Each of these answers deserves honest thought.
How do I answer when I already know myself better?
Tarot: The World, The Magician, The Sun, Ten of Cups, Knight of Swords. Runes: Sowilo, Dagaz, Tiwaz, Ansuz, Mannaz. Lenormand: Sun, Stars, Key, Paths, Heart.
The person with your face sits down opposite you again. They tell you how they accepted the first meeting, what made them glad and which detail led them to ask one more question. Their most important memory is the moment they felt they could speak clearly without losing their warmth.
The World and Mannaz gather your experience. The Magician shows the ability to use it, and the Knight of Swords — the readiness to answer. The Ten of Cups and the Heart add the life and the close relationships that also take part in the choice.
The message is: “Answer from the place where you are now.” The Stars and the Key support a direction that includes both hope and understanding. You can now recognise more of your own wishes and express them in more precise words.
Tarot: The Emperor, Two of Cups, Ace of Pentacles, Six of Wands, Queen of Pentacles. Runes: Fehu, Othala, Inguz, Berkano, Jera. Lenormand: House, Fish, Ring, Garden, Sun.
A beginning can be born that suits your present life better. The Ace of Pentacles and the Emperor show a clear foundation, and the Ring — a commitment made. At work this may be an agreement with better-defined roles. On a personal level — a relationship in which intentions have been spoken.
The Two of Cups supports the mutual wish, and the Queen of Pentacles and the House add care for daily life. The development will show in ordinary actions: a meeting agreed, a promise kept, attention to a detail that matters to you.
The Six of Wands, the Garden and the Sun point to shared joy. Jera gives the result time to take shape. You will understand more and more clearly whether what you have chosen suits you by the way you feel while you live it.
Tarot: The Hierophant, The Lovers, Queen of Cups, The Wheel of Fortune, Justice. Runes: Gebo, Laguz, Tiwaz, Raidho, Sowilo. Lenormand: Ring, Heart, Paths, Key.
Your direction is to turn what you have lived through into more conscious decisions. The Hierophant and Justice support honesty towards your values, and the Lovers and the Queen of Cups — attention to feelings and closeness.
The Wheel of Fortune and Raidho show a life that goes on offering different circumstances. Some will resemble what you know. You will be able to get to know them with more questions, clearer boundaries and a better understanding of what you want.
The Ring and Gebo point to mutual promises, and the Heart and the Key — to personal choice. Part of your contribution lies in the example you set: a person can keep the ability to love and to feel excitement while learning to choose more carefully.
The phone is still beside you. You read what you have written down and ask yourself the question from the beginning: “Do I still want it?”
This time you allow yourself to stay with it long enough. You recognise what makes you glad, what worries you and which part of the old wish is already foreign to you. Then you call back.
“I was glad you got in touch. I want us to talk. Some things are different for me now.”
After these words you feel relief. You have made room for your interest and left open the possibility of being known as you are today. The next conversation will show whether there is a shared direction.
The sixth portal ends with this freedom. When what you wanted comes looking for you again, you can meet it with open attention. To hear the offer, to ask your questions and to find out whether you still choose it.
I wish you a second chance that brings new understanding, and a meeting in which your present voice is heard. May you recognise what still excites you and give it a form that suits your life today. And when you answer, may you feel that your words are truly your own.
✦ An exchange of energy ✦
Everything you do from the heart — a word, an action, a gift — comes back. It returns at the moment when enough has gathered, and that may be neither tomorrow nor next week. If these words have reached you, if something in them has recognised something in you, this is no accident. And if you feel like returning a little of this energy, any amount is received with gratitude and turns into new content, new spreads and new words that will reach someone who needs them at exactly the right time. This is how the circle goes on.
