Symbolon Oracle – 78 cards for astrology, psychology and past-life work
Symbolon Oracle is a unique deck of 78 cards, created in Germany in the 1980s by Ingrid Zinnel, Peter Orban and Thea Weller. The cards were illustrated by Thea Weller, whose striking images combine European mythology, history, astrological symbols and deep psychological symbolism. The set comes in a box with an English guidebook, and the cards measure 7 × 12 cm.
The oracle belongs to the categories astrology, gods, goddesses, psychological cards and artistic painting. It is not an ordinary divination system, but a tool for deep self-knowledge, psychological analysis and spiritual growth.
One of the main aims of the Symbolon deck is to recreate memories of past lives. The images feature scenes from European myths and history, as well as numerous astrological signs, which create rich symbolism and allow different levels of interpretation. It is this combination that makes Symbolon one of the most recognisable psychological decks in the world.
Those who are just beginning to study astrology, as well as people who have been interested in it for years, will also find enormous value in this deck. Symbolon offers visual interpretations of the meanings of the planets, zodiac signs and their combinations, making astrological symbolism easier, more intuitive and more accessible to understand.
Symbolon is an oracle created in Germany in the 1980s by Peter Orban, Ingrid Zinnel and Thea Weller. The deck has only one thing in common with Tarot – the number of cards (78). In every other respect it is an independent system with its own philosophy and way of working.
The aim of Symbolon is to recreate memories and bring back to life certain moments from past lives. Working with the cards is a kind of psychotherapeutic session, during which the “patient” becomes aware of the problem, goes back to its origin and understands how it can be resolved. Rather than focusing only on the future, the deck turns attention to the causes behind present life situations and supports the process of inner awareness.
The card images present European myths and historical scenes, taking the human mind back to the past and to the archetypal stories that continue to influence our lives. In the corner of each card there is an astrological symbolthat links the card to the corresponding astrological principles. So, besides supporting the development of psychological and associative memory, Symbolon can also be used successfully when working with astrological knowledge.
At the same time, working with the cards requires no prior knowledge of astrology. The main idea is to remember the symbol, find it in the past and connect it with what is happening in the present, gradually reaching a deeper understanding of one’s own experiences and life patterns.
The origin of the name Symbolonis particularly interesting. It comes from the ancient Greek word “Symbolon”, the name given to the clay tabletsthat the ancient Greeks carried on their journeys. One half of the tablet stayed with its owner, and the other was given to a person especially important to them. The journeys sometimes lasted more than a year, and after so much time people could hardly recognise each other. It was through the two halves of the clay tablet that they found each other again. In the same symbolic way, the Symbolon Oracle helps you find lost parts of your personal story, restore the inner links between past and present and reach a deeper self-knowledge.
If you are looking for an oracle for astrology, psychological analysis, archetype work, European mythology, past lives and spiritual growth, the Symbolon Oracle is one of the most profound and iconic decks ever created. It suits both beginners and advanced practitioners who wish to explore the symbols of the human psyche, better understand their life patterns and bring the richness of astrological and mythological symbolism into their practice.
