Six images and six stories. Each one carries its own question, its own practice and its own way of checking what the return wants from you now.
It happens that you feel something familiar entering your life again, only this time it comes with a different face. Someone from long ago appears after years, an idea you set aside suddenly excites you again, an unresolved story starts asking for an answer, a family theme repeats itself in the present, or you find yourself facing a choice remarkably like one you have already lived through. And then the natural question comes: why exactly now?
This test is for the moments when you sense a repetition and still do not know what exactly is coming back and what it wants from you. It may be a person, a truth that is finally coming to light, a practical matter left without an ending, a family role you continue without noticing, a wish you pushed into the background long ago, or a decision life is offering you once more. The six images lead to six different stories, and each of them has its own question, its own practice and a different way of checking what the return means for you now.
The test will do more than tell you that “the past is coming back”. It will help you see what exactly it brings with it, which part still matters, what you have changed since the first time and what you can do differently today. In one result you will work with a mandala and sound, in another with movement and sensation in the body, in a third with a candle, a coin or a sigil. Somewhere the answer will ask for a conversation, elsewhere for action, and in one place it may simply turn out that the old dream has been waiting for you to stop promising it “some day”.
Look at the six scenes and choose the one your gaze returns to on its own. Do not look for the most beautiful one and do not try to guess in advance what it means. Choose the image that holds you a second longer.
Then see what from the past has come to you again — and why this time it may receive a different answer.
Touch the scene that draws you — and it will open right below here.
You chose the letter. One important piece is missing around an old story, and right now it is beginning to find its way back to you. You may hear something from a person you long ago stopped expecting an explanation from, come across a piece of information by chance, or connect two details yourself that have lived apart for years. As though life kept the draft and finally decided that the last paragraph can be read.

You chose the familiar figure, and for you the past has a face. It may be an old love, a friend, a relative, an acquaintance, or someone you were close to before life took the two of you in different directions. There are people who spend years around us and fade quickly, and others who stay in the memory after a few meetings, one autumn or a conversation that ended too early. With this choice, exactly such a person may appear in your field of vision again.

You chose the third image, and for you the past comes back with a folder under its arm. Something concrete has stayed open: money, a document, a contract, a promise, work, an administrative matter, a project, a debt, an inheritance, or a decision that has waited a long time for its turn. Life evidently keeps accounts too, only it has the unpleasant habit of sending the notices late.

You chose the old house, and for you the past comes back through something far deeper than a memory. In a present situation you may recognise a role you learned so early that for a long time you took it for part of your character. In the family someone always carried everything, another stayed silent, a third rescued everybody, a fourth kept the peace at any cost. In time the roles change faces, and the lines stay remarkably similar. The family line evidently loves repeats almost as much as television loves a successful series.

You chose the fifth image, and something very personal is coming back to you — a wish that was once strong enough for you to picture your life with it, and then stayed in the background. It may be a talent you used and then left, an education whose moment never quite came, a language, music, writing, travel, work of your own, a move, a stage, creative work, or a completely different way of living. The years have a particular talent for filling the calendar with sensible tasks, and somewhere between the bills, the deadlines and “let me just finish this”, a person discovers that an old dream of theirs has become rather patient.

You chose the sixth image, and for you the past comes back as a question that has already been asked once. The wording may be different, the people may be others, the place may have changed, and the feeling is familiar: once again you have to decide whether you accept, refuse, leave, stay, take the risk, invest, buy, move, or let someone come closer. Life has a strange sense of humour — when it very much wants to know whether we have learned anything, it changes the set and asks almost the same question.
