Röhrig Tarot (Tarot of the Third Millennium) – Carl W. Röhrig

Röhrig Tarot (Tarot of the Third Millennium) is one of the most striking and original contemporary decks, created by the legendary German artist Carl-W. Röhrig, founder of the movement known as fantastic naturalism. This is not a traditional tarot – it is a multi-layered system of symbols, archetypes, and modern imagery that bridges ancient occult knowledge with the reality of the new millennium. Every card is a true work of art, steeped in mysticism, philosophy, and hidden meanings that gradually reveal themselves to the attentive observer.

Inspired by the tradition of Aleister Crowley, the deck offers its own entirely unique reading of the arcana. Familiar archetypes are presented through bold surrealist compositions in which ancient esoteric symbols intertwine with the signs of modern civilisation. The Chariot, for example, becomes a high-speed Formula 1 racing car, while classic imagery meets futuristic visions, runic symbols, Hebrew letters, occult signs, and numerous references to a variety of spiritual traditions.

Each card is constructed as a complex symbolic collage. At first glance the images may seem unusual – even enigmatic – but that is precisely their power. The deck does not offer ready-made answers; it activates the imagination, stimulates the subconscious, and encourages intuitive engagement with the symbols. Every new spread can reveal fresh details, hidden connections, and deeper layers of meaning, making Röhrig Tarot an inexhaustible source of spiritual insight.

Röhrig Tarot (Tarot of the Third Millennium) is especially well suited to those who work intuitively with cards and prefer to trust their inner impressions rather than relying solely on classic meanings. It is a wonderful tool for meditation, psychological reflection, spiritual development, and inner work. Rather than pointing only to outward events, the deck reveals the inner processes behind them and helps bring the hidden workings of the human soul into awareness.

Thanks to its extraordinary artistic value and rich symbolism, Röhrig Tarot is highly regarded by professional tarot readers and collectors of rare, unconventional decks alike. This is a deck that never stops surprising you – the more you work with it, the more secrets it shares. It is a bridge between ancient wisdom and the future, between occult knowledge and modern consciousness, between logic and intuition.
